we started the dinner with a few appetizers. the beef carpaccio served on a himalayan salt block is delicious usda prime thinly sliced sirloin. our only issue is that the beef is sliced too thick, so the portion seemed a bit small. next we moved on to the crab cake served with cognac mustard & ginger sauces. this is a wonderful example of a crab cake, with lots of crab and little filler. the flavors are great and left us wanting more. we both ordered charbroiled filet mignons ~ pam got the 10oz and jeff jumped in for the 14oz. while pam ordered hers medium rare, jeff went a bit more aggressive and ordered it rare. both steaks arrived perfectly cooked and were delicious. along with the steaks, we ordered butternut squash with spinach & bleu cheese fondue. it was perfect and the blue cheese is a great addition to this dish. we also got the standard roasted wild mushrooms, something we can’t pass up. smith and wollensky is a good choice f
