my usual place, in beaverton for thai, has been thai bloom. the other night, however, my son and his girlfriend talked me into going here. (formerly this was typhoon near the max station and next to mio sushi.)
yeah, i was skeptical, but everything turned out very well. the service was good, the food wasgoodand there were no complaints from anyone at the table. so, a 3.5 rating means "i liked it" and will try again go see how consistent they are. (may end up giving up thai bloom - which i like for the food, dislike for the service - a run for my money.) i will say the "ambiance" is much better in terms of booth seating and not having to hear your neighbors talk about their dire issues in life.

as i said, a 3.5 generally warrants the need to come back when possible; and, after 3 trips back, i have raised my rating to a 4.5. the great food and excellent service has been consistent each time making this one of my top favorite thai restaurants in the portland/beaverton area! the selections being offered surpass so many other places.
i am not sure why their overall rating is a 3 when all the other reviewers have given a 4.5 or 5 rating - which siam lotus deserves. yes it is a little more expensive than other places - but, not that much and you get what you pay for and, so far, i have been very happy to pay for tasty food served without delay and service with a smile.
