my new favorite bar. "i've always liked shanahan's pub. it's always been that littledive bar downtown with a nice vibe. i went in recently while i was bar hopping, and wow what a change. it's a completely different bar, but with that same great neighborhood bar vibe. it's actually a really nice bar now. the food was awesome, the staff treated me great, and i just had a great time hanging out watching the game. i think i have a new favorite bar."

i think this could very well be the greatest pub west of the mississippi always fun great service awesome food and affordable not to mention constant updating inside and out

one of the best pubs in town. you guy's rock!!!..thank you for bringing shany's back from the dead. it's never been better or busier. if you haven't been to shanahan's in a while, drop what your doing and go check it out. this is turning into one of the best pubs in town, great food , cheap prices, and a frickin awesome staff. you can always tell a great bar when the bartenders are happy to work there. they even say nothing but great things about the owner. if your looking for a nice place to chill and hang out with freinds, or even just want to meet some new people, then this is the bar for you.

shanahans is in my budget. i love this place. my fav food, the dublin and the cali burger. upgrade to tots from chips. my boyfriend and i often split it. comfortable casual and great service and the best,...variety of cold beer and sports always on the tv.

this is clearly a "regulars" bar. other than too many fluorescent lights i can't say too much bad about it other than if you are not a regular, forget any kind of service. i got a beer right away, no problem, but was asked to cash out, from that point on i couldn't even beg to order food or anything else. i came in starving and everybody else's food looked great. tried to get full on the aroma but had little success.

surprisingly pleased. i have to admit, a few years ago i didn't like shanahan's. i was very presumptuous of the establishment as a whole after one evening with a particularly rude bartender, but he has since been gone (four years ago) and the place offers a decent, hardworking staff that seems, thus far, to be sans-typical bartender ego that would otherwise make a bar undesirable. i think i was also being narrow-minded, but it's so easy for one person to rub you the wrong way into not going to a bar for a few years.
a couple of months ago a coworker of mine suggested we make our happy hour trip to shany's. it was a tuesday, so i relented. i was amazed! it's a very comfortable bar with many booth-style seating (my preference), but along with that a full length bar, many tables, pool tables, a large back room where they conduct pub quiz nights and an outside smoking area/beer garden. i think what i liked most about it was how casual it felt; let's face it, you're going to get all kinds of people, so i can't say it's the type of place you can go to and slip into anonymity, because it's vancouver for christ's sake. that just doesn't happen anymore. but--it is a place that doesn't feel too high strung or pretentious. they have a very decent beer selection and i was rather amazed by their happy hour food which goes from 3pm to 8pm. i've only tried the cod tacos thus far but my husband has had the steak bites with mushrooms and the pulled pork tacos and said they're both surprisingly amazing. i recommend to anyone looking for a quality, down to earth bar to go to shanahan's, for they somehow managed to stay above the typical, vancouver-bar fray.

give shanahan's a try!. great food. friendly crew. good selection of beers on tap. you gotta try the rueben! very fresh, they smoke their own meats.

these guys have added a lunch special on friday, that i had not had before. tuna melt, he cooks are doing it right and its very good, they toast the bun, excellent, they fit the tuna to the bun excellent, then it goes under the salamander and i melts the cheddar evenly across the top. not only ls the presentation first rate, so is the tatse
unusual for a pub when the food is as good as the booze

david. great spagetti usually, especially if ken makes it, they use italian sausage sometimes. and reasonable always
the owner dave is very accomadating, all you have to dois ask, his words, and i have, he is a good one, the waitress, it seems there now called bartenders? marketing? tips? ego??? there are some attitudes i could do without. jen the little tiny one, excellent, sunday, or thursday .

shanahan's reall does rock. i have been involved in the bar industry for quite some time, and i love shanahan's. i went in mid november for the first time in a few years for lunch and the server was very respectful and friendly, so i took some friends back there a few days later and she remembered some of our names, and i was absolutely impressed! i love shanny's! excellent food, excellent drinks and a great clean place. i'll be back!

an all around fun place, no trouble...

oi oi!. shanny's is a great place to gather with friends as well as enjoy local music and good atmosphere. their menu is superb and the entertainment ranges from arcade games to pool tables. their outdoor tables on the back porch is a must during the summer. definitely a great spot to stop by for a drink and munchies!

excellent happy hour menu, service & the best bartender sara!!!!!! highly recommend - enjoy.
