sero's family restaurant

sero's is not good enough to be great but not bad enough to be terrible. this place has carved out its niche right in the middle. you will get a filling meal however it is nothing to write home about. it is always filled with seasoned citizens remembering the "good ol' days". sero's is the place you go when nothing else sounds good. this restaraunt is the definition of mediocrity.

great food!. koa recommended and we are glad we went! great food & great value, reasonable prices. warm friendly staff, lots of community regulars. amazing desserts made by a local resident! must try!! nothing stuffy - very relaxed with wonderful food. large portions.

spend your money elsewhere. the place is not well maintained or cleaned on a regular basis.our salt shaker had what looked like cheese stuck on it.we saw a worker wipe a table off with a filthy looking towel that had ketchup all over it,and you see food particles on the floor.our bill was 22 dollars for 2 breakfast entrees and 2 milks. never again my friends.

ne of my wife's favorite places. took her there on 08/26/17. there was a large crowd in the backroom and we were seated just outside that room and were the only ones in that section, there was plenty of seating in the front section. the crowd was very loud and the waitress began bringing food and literally yelling out what it was. our waitress came and took our order and was very short and somewhat rude. even my wife commented on it, and she never says anything like that. i ordered coffee and drank my first cup and then it sat empty for over ten minutes with no one checking on us. when the food did arrive it was brought out and just about thrown on the table by another waitress was even more rude than the first. my order was complicated, two eggs, double bacon, and wheat toast.  the waitress brought out one order of bacon and wheat toast. additionally, my wife requested a side of shredded cheese and did not receive it. i then  told the rude waitress that i did not want the rest of my order and to take it off my bill. i did tell her i would pay for my wife's and my coffee, i never touched the partial order that had been brought. the manager, a short blond with curly shoulder length hair, arrived and i told her the waitresses had been rude, the order had taken to long and i wanted my food taken off the bill, she then responded that her waitresses had not been rude, but was never in the room we were in while we were there. she also said the order had taken long because of the large group in the other room. she also said she would not take the food off the bill and when said i was not going to pay for it she said "don't cause a scene or ill call the cops". i am 53 years old and have never been treated or spoken to by a restaurant manager like that in my life. oh and by the way what i did not tell her is that i have been a "cop" for 30 years. i paid for the entire bill including the shredded cheese and left. i will be posting this experience on twitter, facebook, and sharing it with my numerous fellow law enforcement officers and friends. by the way i will never go back and what goes around comes around.

my husband and i went to sero's for breakfast this morning, and as usual the food was great and hot. the staff were friendly and  polite. and a tip if you like grits they have the best i have ever eaten. my husband
did not care for grits till he had some at sero's and not he likes them. we will continue going there.

an omelette, hash browns, toast and coffee resulted in a bill of $12.08!  as they say,
wtf!

the omelette was on the overcooked side, the spuds on the cold side and the toast buttered only in the sense that it had once been in a room with butter.  the coffee was good.

to sum up: the service was very good, the food was mediocre and the price was too high by half.

do yourself a favor and find a denny's or a waffle house if you want breakfast.

i had a veggie omelet and i got egg shells and all... omelet was brown i don't like that. i thought there was a denny's in the area unfortunately not!

worst place to eat.. went there and had the most awfull experience in a restaurant to date.

1. ham was spoiled. informed the waitress and her reply was, "that's ok they gave you to much anyways."

2. waitress was rude and needs to be schooled in proper etiquette for her job field. however this being a family owned business it would probably would not be carried out.

in closing this will be one restaurant that i will not be attending in the future and i will surely pass it on to my family and friends of my dining experience. i will also add this was not my first time going there and that time was a miserable time also, however as the old saying is fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me....etc.

awful customer service. i called to inquire about some food i wanted to get. there must have been a bad phone connection and they hung up on me. i called back five more times and each time they didn't even say hello. they just hung up. won't even try going there now.

their soups are sooo good. we go regularly now, and my favorite thing about the place are the soups. i've not had one i didn't love.

the mushroom and barley is my favorite. the chicken lemon rice soup is soooooo yummy with a hint of lemon. its the kind of chicken soup you'd want on a cold day when you are sick.

the beef stew was good. i love that you can tell it's homemade not out of a can... the veggies were hand-cut and tasted fresh.

the corn chowder is sooo yummy. thick and creamy and what seemed like hints of bacon in it. i'd get it again!

i read thru some of the other reviews and one i noticed was someone complaining about the service. when we've been there the staff has been super friendly for the most part. there is a waitress or two that can come across as gruff but if you are nice and apprecetiative, they will be too.

i love that the old-timers come here and hang out and eat. to me, it's a mark of a good restaurant... a place people return to over and over and feel like family and come back again and again. it's great for family. huge variety and selection of food.

and, they serve diet mt dew!!!

they have the giant tenderloin... my husband hasn't yet tried it but it's on his wish list it looks yummy when we see people order it... but he always finds something else on the menu he wants to try.

my favorite menu item so far was the greek pastichio (not sure how to spell it) but it's the greek lasagna that they have occasionally on special. sooo good. i also loved the beef stroganoff on special. my favorite regular menu item so far has been the beef manhattan.

does the place need a deep cleaning. yes. would they wipe a table again, get you a new salt shaker or replace your silverware if you got some that were dirty. yes. just be nice and ask.

we will be going back!

yum!. stopped in here last week and happened to be the day they were serving greek lasagna (i can't even begin spelling it) and i love it so i got an order of that with the mushroom barley soup. both were excellent!!! my husband got the greek plate. service was nice, people were nice and the food was in big portions and what we had was great! i can't wait to go back for breakfast.

really unfortunate. we used to live in the area a few years ago and came to seros frequently because of the homestyle food. back then the service was great. however, things have changed. though the food remains the same, the service sucks. our order want right, the waitress never checked back after someone else brought our food, we had to ask for condiments, drink refills and it took multiple trips to get everything as something was always forgotten. you can bet i'm going to forget something...this place!!

waste of money. ordered carry-out one double cheese burger one beef manhattan both with cottage cheese they charged 23 dollars for the order and forgot the cottage cheese(found out when i got home). the food was so so tough stringy beef in the manhattan and the burger was smaller than a big mac. when i called to complain about the cottage cheese that was missing there was no apology just the comment drive back here and get them. no thanks i will take my business else where.

great food. i was with a group of 11 people who went to sero's (in addition, there was another group of 37 people there). our waitress was johnny-on-the-spot keeping our drinks filled. i had the prime rib steak salad with blue cheese and the portions were quite generous and it was delicious.everyone's food portions were outstanding. i would go back again without question. the restaurant itself was clean and airy and the bathrooms were clean and well kept. two thumbs up.

works for me. this is probably going to be the strangest food review ever, but stick with me. i have been to a rash of local joints lately and most of them have been major disappointments (see reviews). i can't help but love this place. the food is good, the atmosphere is great - it's "country", outdated, and the friendliness of the staff is hit or miss - but there's something incredibly comforting about my time there that makes me want to return on a daily basis. they have extremely reasonable lunch specials, most of which are $5.95 including drink, and the breakfast specials are cheap as well. so far, i'm responsible for each picture of food that's on here, so i've tried quite a few dishes. the cuban panini was delicious, made from thick-sliced pork roast, thinly-sliced ham and melty cheese all on an herb-infused roll. i've also tried and loved their beef and noodles, which had big chunks of roast and real noodles. the eggs are great, and the fried potatoes are delicious. even the pepsi tastes better there. do yourself a favor and try this one.
