i am a passionate wellingtonian foodie. i decided to try this café for a late breakfast - undoubtedly the worst i have had in a wn café in years.
i arrived and ordered a brunchie breakfast with coffee. the waitress who served the coffee slammed it down on the table and left without a smile; when i asked for sugar, she sullenly returned, without a word and slammed that down on the table too, then turned on her heel and left. no response to my cheery, “thank you.”
the coffee was ok – just 6/10.
the breakfast – poached eggs – rock hard, kale, a green hollandaise which tasted weird and awful; two small pieces of bacon that had been fried to a burnt husk; potato hash-cakes – (fried, oily, luke warm, greasy). 2/10
an unfriendly, bad food, bad eating experience. i emails lived in france last year – that is what i came to ex i am a passionate wellingtonian foodie. i decided to try your café this morning for a late breakfast. i don’t like bagging a place through an online review as i think they are often unfair, but i had to write to let you know of my experience – which would undoubtedly be the worst i have had in a wn café in years.
