savoury restaurant

i've been here twice and not that big a fan. but today i had pasta. some arabic style chicken pasta . it was yummy,a bit towards the sweet side (although it gets a bit monotonous after a while, so share it with someone) . and they have the best fricking chocolate shake it is delicious! and heart shaped cucumbers damn daniel with the pasta as a side.

next visit: shangai chicken( tasteless !) and schezwanricewhich isnt anything special either

i ordered 2 normal chicken friedriceand 1 mutton biryani .i received 2 paneer schezwan friedriceand i biryaniricewith lots of mutton gravy on it (biryani was not dum)with 2 big big uneatable bones without any meat.if u take 600 rs,den u should serve customers as per dat 600 rs.u will take 600,and give service of 6 rs huh?my 600 totally wasted plus these online apps not willing to refund or replace or watever. did not eat plus money wasted..600 rs loss.i ordered on uber eats.

this place has really good interior and good service. food quality is really disappointing and not upto the mark

mutton mandi:
we had ordered half mutton mandi which costs 700 rs and can be eaten by 3 people.
good quality was disappointing. mutton andricehad zero flavour.

food quality needs to be improved for the price charged. five people had dinner for around 2000 rs.

beautiful looking restaurant in the prime location of mangalore, the city centre mall. the service, however to my dismay, was not satisfactory.

ambience -
warm and well lit restaurant, with beautiful decor, perfect for a good family dinner or a date.
the washroom's were not that great, didn't have soap refilled.

food -
i ordered and tried the following dishes -
1. gobi manchurian
2. paneer tikka masala
3. schezwan friedrice(veg)

paneer tikka masala was absolutely out of the world spicy 🌶, more than a normal paneer tikka masala should ever be. i had so much trouble in my bowels after having this, so i would not recommend this to anybody 🚫
the cauliflower in gobi manchurian was not well cooked, otherwise it was not bad.
schezwan friedricewas okay, i'm not an expert but i felt like the vegetables were not in the right proportion.

service -
it took the longest time for the food to be served, maybe after 25 mins post placing the order. it was a weekday dinner, yet the waiters seemed too busy. they were so eager to clear the dishes that one of them almost took away the curry which we were not done eating. plates were also cleared in a hurry before all members could finish eating. the salt shakers were grabbed without permission through space between the partition by one of the waiters.
unfortunately, the service seemed quite unprofessional to me.

pros - good location, good ambience.

unfortunately, my overall experience was not good, sorry. much scope for improvement.

ordered chicken friedriceand drums of heaven. taste was good but quantity per plate was too little.

went here for lunch. while i've seen this hotel in bangalore, saw it for the first time in mangalore. nevertheless, the place is good when it comes to ambience n quality that it provides. settled for lunch n ordered manchow soup. i must say this was good. not outstanding or heavenly, but considering the cuisine they are known for, the soup did taste good. ordered biryaniricen egg omlette. was disappointed with thericesince this didn't have any kind of masala in it. it was like ghee rice.. asked for some sherwa n was denied. was told only raita n pickle comes with it.. my eyebrows raised couple of inches more than they usually go up every time i'm surprised.. nevertheless i was so happy that i ordered egg omlette with it. with its help i was able to havericepeacefully. not thatricewas bad. it was bland. nevertheless it's a ok k k experience n i won't let this one ruin my future visits to this place. i will surely try the rest the next time i go there..

one of the finest restaurants to dine in with family and friends. the whole setup and the interiors of the restaurant make you feel like you are in one of the dubai restaurants. the ambience ans hygiene is really maintained well. the staffs are really polite and quick.

foods :

1) arab chicken soup :

they serve the best arab soups with slightly thin consistency. 4/5

2) al faham chicken :

this chicken is really good with really delicious flavours. they serve it along with the kubus and salas with mayonnaise. the quantity is also upto the mark. 5/5

3) chicken sizzler :

the sizzler was too good with the finest gravy and also served with french fries and cabbage. 5/5

4) butter roti :

like any other served in other places and it was perfect .5/5

5) egg masala :

one of the best egg masala i ever had. really went along very good with the butter roti. 5/5

6) chicken friedrice:

really light to have with the finest taste and good quantity. 5/5

7) lime juice :

at first they messed up with the order and bought the sugarless but when later asked to change it without any complaints politely they did change it. 5/5

yes the place is overpriced but really worth for what they serve with quantity and quality with the taste.would love to visit again💕

mutton mandiriceis too good...kerala parota...good ambience....never try to taste their mango shake fresh fruit not pulp...staff are friendly and good service ...

ok here goes my review:
1. first of all the staff need to change their behaviour towards their customers. stop being rude .
2. have proper knowledge on the quantity and other relevant information about the items present in your menu. if you are not, then don’t lie.
3. ordered mutton ribs and chicken biryani. mutton was burnt and thericein the biryani was very bad. since expectations are high from savoury, the price should do justice to the quality of the food served. please look into it.
4. please provide proper normal drinking water and finger bowl when asked. don’t search for it once the customer asks for it.
please live up to the expectations.

my tastebuds still tingle at the thought of this restaurant, which was one of the prime highlights of our karnataka trip 5 months ago. right from the ambience to the service to the food - every little aspect left us in awe. we had ordered an arabian starter - iffa dajaj - and chinese mains. iffa dajaj was something we'd never tried before, but was completely sold on, the moment we took our first bite. the grilled chicken was succulent, flavoursome, and pairing it up with the accompaniments (mayo dips, mashed potato, french fries, veggies) simply took it up a notch. then came the main course - chicken friedriceand chilli chicken, which is kind of a staple in my family. we weren't expecting gold standards here, since savoury is primarily an arabian restaurant. what we got served, however - perfectly-seasonedriceand chicken meatballs in a rich, spicy gravy - blew us away. we've had these two dishes at countless joints all over the country, and if we were to grade them, savoury would end up in the top three. 'delicious' doesn't even begin to cover how good the food was that day. it made me wish i didn't live in a city a few thousand kilometres away! bottomline is, savoury is a gem of a restaurant which should be on the itinerary of any foodie planning to visit mangalore. :)

went in there with lot of expectations, having a good reputation in bangalore. this was below par and disappointing to me.

tried grill chicken as starter, it was too dry and wasn’t tasty, felt it was reheated after it was cooked. (microwave kinda feel to it)

was really looking forward to mandi, chicken was decent enough, but dry yet again.ricewas good and tasty, but wasn’t served hot.

service was decent enough. if they had served it right, quality for the price would have been good considering the place.

most of the items (food and drinks) are delicious, but stick to the dishes you know. my friends and i ordered mandhi chicken rice, i must say it was the most disappointing meal ever! ₹900 for just pulavricewith an entire ugly boiled chicken on top! unappealing appearance and bland taste. avoid chicken mandhi!
