savoury restaurant

heard this is a joint based from kerala. also popular in the middle east. huge place with wide variety on the menu. went in perticularly to try their shorma got carried away with menu. good food decent service. liked the biryani it was really wholesome. recommend to groups who want to try arabian dishes.

beautiful looking restaurant in the prime location of mangalore, the city centre mall. the service, however to my dismay, was not satisfactory.

ambience -
warm and well lit restaurant, with beautiful decor, perfect for a good family dinner or a date.
the washroom's were not that great, didn't have soap refilled.

food -
i ordered and tried the following dishes -
1. gobi manchurian
2. paneer tikka masala
3. schezwan fried rice (veg)

paneer tikka masala was absolutely out of the world spicy 🌶, more than a normal paneer tikka masala should ever be. i had so much trouble in my bowels after having this, so i would not recommend this to anybody 🚫
the cauliflower in gobi manchurian was not well cooked, otherwise it was not bad.
schezwan fried rice was okay, i'm not an expert but i felt like the vegetables were not in the right proportion.

service -
it took the longest time for the food to be served, maybe after 25 mins post placing the order. it was a weekday dinner, yet the waiters seemed too busy. they were so eager to clear the dishes that one of them almost took away the curry which we were not done eating. plates were also cleared in a hurry before all members could finish eating. the salt shakers were grabbed without permission through space between the partition by one of the waiters.
unfortunately, the service seemed quite unprofessional to me.

pros - good location, good ambience.

unfortunately, my overall experience was not good, sorry. much scope for improvement.

ordered online from zomato, kalmi kabab and it is burnt and taste is very bad. i am very upset with my order with savoury. very expensive and all i get is burnt chicken peices.

ordered mutton biryani through zomato delivery. there was a discount. the discounted price was 155. was very disappointed to see just one tiny mutton piece in the biryani. this is cheating the customers in the name of discounts. very disappointed with savoury

good ambience. lovely food.i was not satisfied with the mutton sheek kabab as it wasnt as i expected. shawarma was too good. and the biryani too.loved the service

one of a kind ambience, with a normal table dining area and as well as a majlis (floor dining) if you want to get that middle eastern vibe.
food is really good and they have a variety of choices in the menu! one should really try the crab soup and the hummus with khubs (arabian bread), also the platters are really good.
if you are planning to go in a group on a weekend, i’d suggest you use the reservation service.

we ordered dinner online. the hammus and muttabal were both dry, needed olive oil.
instead of pita bread that we ordered as extra plus the pita that they were supposed to put along with some items of the order, they instead sent some bread made out of maida which was like rubber.
savoury spoilt our dinner.

an arab biriyani. was bland and overpriced. it tasted like ghee rice totally not worth it.

the starters and soup was quite good but the biriyani was not worth it.

worst arabic food served in the name of mandi. plain biryani cooked rice served with low quality mutton and it as laham mandi. priced very high for low quality food

had ordered an egg omlette. resembled a black lump, absolutely pathetic. i did not want to give it a rating but unfortunately 1 is the least rating.

it was a posh lunch😋
1. bbq tiger prawns = 999 rs -it was too much for us(no one warned us how big the service are!)
2. bbq chicken ( half ) = 230
3. kunafa spl ( cheese ) = 269 -tried for the first time nd i loved it being a sweet toothed person nd the cheese made it yum yum😋😋

great food and great ambience. very good service. biriyanis and arabic cuisine here are the best ones in mangalore. no question of accessability as it is located downstairs of the city centre mall. if you are planning for a family dinner, this is the place for you!

ordered chicken fried rice and drums of heaven. taste was good but quantity per plate was too little.

starting with the shawarma, was good and filled with chicken but wasn’t the best shawarma that i had tried out in mangalore.
loved thier royal falooda though that was topped with ice cream , fruits, nuts and raisins ❤️ perfect combo to enjoy💯

the ambience was nice but the staff seems a bit ignorant . non vegetarian dishes were nice but veg pasta was not that nice ie. it was tasteless i had multiple chicken dishes which was above average.
