unbelievable!. i randomly stopped by sam's this afternoon and have never been so pleasantly surprised. i had the best sub i've ever had. this was only my first time, but i will be back. not only were all the ingredients cooked and prepared to perfection, but the flavor and texture of the toasted sub couldn't have been more perfect. i was only going to eat half and wound up devouring the whole 12 inch! you will not be disappointed with this place. i created an urbanspoon account just to write a review of this place.

the brisket is bonkers good, make sure to have any of the sandwiches that it is offered on. it is a must have!! and the owners are extremely nice!

we've been here twice and i think it's out new weekend lunch spot! the subs are delicious and the saturday special is great. but a footling sub (absolutely enough for two) and get a free drink and side. the owners are so friendly and we're lucky to have them in the neighborhood.

best secret in norfolk. i'm from out of state and i am a student at old dominion. first off, this is your traditional small business, family environment, good old fashion food. the couple who owns the place are such great people. black and blue sub was absolutely amazing. best sandwich i've had in va. i found my new spot.

bryan. i tried to fine a diamond in the rough around odu and found one. this is the definition of a mom and pop shop because mom and pop are the only ones working there. this definitely allows a high level of quality assurance and it definitely showed. every night they slow cook their meat for 15 hours. i had the black and blue and you can taste everything, the blue cheese didn't over power the sub like i thought it would. very friendly, asked me how things were going and told me about the place. awesome experience and i am going to recommend everyone try this place.

soups are yummy too. had the cream of broccoli and mushroom soup this week. mmmmmm, very nice. and he gives you enough for two meals. his glasses of wine are generously sized and pleasant.

not only is it the best sub shop i have ever been to, the staff go out of their way to ensure you will always return. i cannot get enuff of their stuff. the barbecue on thursday's put that
douwhatever place to shame. the homebaked brownies and cookies would embarrass your mom. it is so good cogan's is opening a new lace next door. wi-fi and everything and mimosas like you would not believe. one of several gems the odu area has to be very proud

truly, a hidden gem. one of the best sub shops in the hampton roads area. i highly recommend the black and blue but you can't go wrong with the other subs. the brisket was tender and delicious. the perfect amount of blue cheese that wont over power the taste. the staff is always friendly and helpful.

delicious barbeque. great barbeque sandwich (sub), with homemade carolina-style vinegar sauce on the side, and homemade macaroni salad. i'll be back.

subs are alway s great and generously filled. have tried five or six of their subs and can't make up my mind which is best.

sublime. man, i've eaten sandwiches all over the world...but their black and blue is out of this world. every time my friends and i go here, we are never disappointed. great people too.

just stopped in for the first time. the staff is wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable. i ordered a bbq sub and their homemade chicken flautas. both are incredible, but i can definitely see myself developing a pretty steady flauta habit. the restaurant itself is clean and has a fun atmosphere. can't wait to go back! :)
