hot digity damn! this is the real deal!. my eyes are so heavy i can barely keep them open, i am so full of good food! saw sam's on some travel/food show and it sounded so good i had to put it on my wish list, plus the spooners had it at 91%. order at the counter, get a number, find a table. the young lad at the register was super helpful, willing to explain everything and was super patient with this first timer who fumbled through an order for four people. they have a pretty decent selection of bottled beers, i had a fat tire. after a very short wait ourfoodwas delivered, i had their sampler plate. the choices i made were the bbq beef, pork shoulder, baby back ribs, slaw and mac salad. the salads were splendid, tasted home made. my meats were so delicious, tender, moist, just the right amount of smoke. the sauces set it off, i'm a big fan of sweet tomato, molasses sauces and their spicy is sublime, could be a little hotter but for the general public it could be considered pretty spicy. usually i can find some detractor where i eat but at sam's i got nothing. cool, old, funky interior that's more like a country kitchen, a train circles the restaurant on an elevated track and they have a nice outdoor patio area to eat at also. i will make the three quarters of an hour drive again, it was that good.
