recent visit - table of 6. theservicewas horrible! at our table of 6 (a gourmet dining group) we were asked to come to dinner at 6:30 instead of 6:00 and we complied. when the first dinner came (after another table who came in after us was already eating), the other 5 dinners did not come for another 30 minutes!! then, when the menu said that 18% gratuity would be added for groups of 6 or more (usually it is for larger groups than that), they added 20% gratuity and said the menu was wrong! we tried to discuss it with them, but they were adamant, notwithstanding that we didn't have our dinner until 1 hour after we arrived & theservicewas so poor. isn't a "gratuity" supposted to be for good service, or is it now just so they can pay their help. we were thoroughly disgusted and will not ever go back there!! we also plan to contest the charge with our credit card company.

i love it. i have been here at least a dozen times over the past 5 years and it never disappoints. the potato pancakes are to die for and i love their perogis. theservicecan be a little slow(but never rude), but the ambiance is nice so it kinda makes up for it.

salt and sweet is one  of my favorites.  first off, you have to understand what it is.  you don't get culinary art for $14.95 a plate.  salt and sweet is good continental cuisine at an affordable price. it is authentic. it is well prepared. the atmosphere is adorable. and theservicehas always been excellent in my many visits.  i love the golumpki, but i usually order the combination platter because i like the pirogis and kielbasa as well. the cabbage soup is to die for.

very disappointing!!!!   friday night and we were the only ones in the restaurant.  for a fine dining restaurant this establishment is very over rated!   salad is only ice burg lettuce, nothing else except the dressing.  after a miss communication from the rudest server i have ever come across, i finally was brought the sweet and salty chicken i ordered.  the sauce had no flavor at all.  it was served with can pineapple slices and frozen broccoli as one of the sides--- this is supposed to be fine dining????
when the bill came she charged me $12.95 for a piece of plain chicken and three pieces of lettuce on the side on top of the $16.95 or the dinner i order.  no customerserviceat all.  husband did not eat half of the special he order. not impressed at all!!!   would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!!!!!!!

bestserviceanywhere. this place has excellent polish food, a great atmosphere, and an attentive wait staff. come here with a group of friends when you have time and want to sit, enjoy some wine, and eat. they don't rush you out, nor do they leave your drinks empty at any time. great food and service, just great!!

sweet and salt, what a delight!. we were a party of four eating at a new restaurant with cuisine we were not familiar with.

sweet and salt restaurant was a delight inserviceand in food quality. all four of us were pleasantly surprised by the variety of tastes offered and the quality of each plate.

our meal consisted of an appetizer of mozzarella in olive oil and seasonings with a slice of tomato as the bed.

for main entrées, we chose the polish sampler plate and the outlaws potato pancakes.

we also ordered a plate of perogies for the table, both russian and polish style.

the meals were outstanding, as was the service. we highly recommend this restaurant to anyone either seeking new flavors or already familiar with polish cuisine.

too pricey, too slow. the food was very good, though the prices were steep and theserviceis slow. the owner tries to do everything herself. i have been here 3 times and the first time she has someone helping her, a young boy maybe 18 and he kept things moving along. after that she tries to "do it all". i guess she's saving herself money at the expense of customers waiting. i last went on a holiday where one would assume there would be extra help especially when you make reservations since they said they would be sold out. i felt like i spent the whole night there. everytime we needed anything, a drink refill, a napkin, etc..... there was no one to come to the table except herself and one helper. after waiting and waiting for the check my spouse and i got up to leave and had to walk to the desk to say "we need to leave" we still did not get our check". she said well it's a holiday and we are busy. no kidding ! get yourself some extra help.

salt & sweet - a little slice of europe in melbourne, fl. since it was our birthday, our sister took my twin & me out for lunch at this lovely restaurant. i have been here before for dinner a couple of times but this was my first visit for lunch. lunch is available monday - saturday from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. although nestled in an ordinary looking strip mall, once inside you almost feel that you could be in europe. salt & sweet serves a variety of traditional polish cuisine and continental dishes.

polish music plays softly in the background. soft coral walls, fans on the ceilings and interesting artwork add to the charming interior. tables are dressed in ivory linen tablecloths with contrasting dark green napkins that co-ordinate with the green underskirts on the tables. long ivory drapes hang gracefully from the windows along with wreaths that help to camouflage the parking lot outside. we sat at a table by the large picture windows. our lovely costumed server brought us luncheon menus to peruse while she took our beverages orders.

the first thing that i noticed about the lunch menu was how reasonably priced it was - under $10. what a terrific value! this price includes either soup or salad and fresh bead and butter. several selections really looked interesting. i finally settled on the outlaw’s potato pancake, $9.95. it was a huge potato pancake smothered with pork goulash and a bit of sour cream. it was very tender and filling. i would order it again. my two sisters ordered the polish sampler plate, $9.95: pierogi, golabki & polish sausage. they thoroughly enjoyed their dish as well. we all chose salad rather than the soup since it was a very hot day. in addition, poultry, veal, beef, pork and seafood as well as polish and a vegetable entrees round out the lunch menu.

we were all quite impressed with theservicethat we received. the restaurant was not too busy since this was a weekday but there were several occupied tables. the server stopped by to refill our beverage glasses and bread basket and to see if we needed anything. in addition, the chef came out also to check on things in general.

the dinner menu starting at 5 pm is more extensive and more expensive but additionally includes either roasted potato or potato dumpling and vegetables. several appetizers are available. if you are still hungry after you finish your meal, which i doubt, there are three desserts offered. if you have not tried polish food, stop by this restaurant and try it. as far as i know this is the only polish restaurant in the melbourne area and it is a good one. since it is fairly close to the king center for the performing arts, you may want to combine a visit to salt & sweet with a show performance. the restaurant accepts reservations by phone or by email. i will not wait for another birthday to return here.

unique dining experience for brevard county. my family and i dined at salt and sweet the other saturday evening. we had been here several years back when they first opened but had honestly forgot about it until i saw it featured on urbanspoon. the food is advertised as polish but i would classify it more eastern european. i tried the meat filled pierogies while others tried the outlaw potato pancakes and golabki. theservicewas except-able considering a larger party came in right after us, the food was good but i wish they had more of a selection on their menu. i will most likely go back the next time i am in the mood for eastern european food unless another restaurant servings this style of food opens in brevard county.

great!. found this on urban spoon. tried it because menu looked different from normal grind. drove up, and had second thoughts, because was in a strip mall. but, gave it a try. polish. waiters appeared to speak polish, so maybe this is a family enterprise.serviceand food were outstanding. decor is nice, with tablecloths and nice napkins, but it is still pretty plain - but tasteful (no pun intended). was not crowded, which was a surprise considering the good food. entrees were mostly $14-19 with a couple that were higher or lower. waiter seemed a little stand-offish at first, but we asked for recommendations and he was very friendly and helpful. i tried the duck - it was perfect (i don't like it fatty, and it wasn't). my wife had the special of the day - some sort of meat-filled balls. did not sound great, but they tasted great. we will definitely eat here again.
