really great testing food. a little pricy for location. ambiance is plain and dull. place really can use a face lift. good veg options available

quite good place! not a great a ambience (who cares 👻) but their food was utterly delicious! presentation was beautiful! their crispy fish in sweet garlic sauce was the star dish! 😋😍 good quantity, reasonable prices, good service!

based on the great reviews about sala thai, we decided to choose this place for a friends get together and were glad to have made that choice! this tiny place is located in a quiet corner of fremont, but was packed on a sunday evening. we had to wait about 15 min before getting seated. we were a big group so got a chance to order a variety of food like tom kha soup, pad thai, drunken noodles, penang curry, pineapple fried rice and crispy fish. all the dishes tasted excellent but had a tinge of sweetness in them. the drunken noodle was the best of the lot while the pad thai was slightly disappointing. the service was fast and the prices were very modest. definitely one of the best thai restaurants i’ve ever been to!!

decent food. have been here often and never disappointed. place may be crowded so may have waiting sometimes. pad thai and red/green curry+rice is don't miss dish.

just ok. i had the pad thai, pad see ew and chicken satay from this restaurant. i would just have to rate it as ok and i question the authenticity of the recipes.

the pad thai sauce was the sugary, ketchupy kind and that left me kind of unimpressed given the high marks about the food here from other reviewers. the chicken satay and the peanut sauce were both really good. the pad see ew was ho hum.

it was located conveniently close to my hotel but i would probably look elsewhere should i return to town.

another one of these.... as in a place with outstanding food but ridiculously bad service. sala had some of the best thai i have ever had, delivered with savory flavor and a relentlessly spicy punch.

however, my positive or negative votes are always predicated on whether i would go there again, and for this place i would not. if and when i come back, i would target another thai place that had servers that pour water into glasses and not all over the table with zero apology--this is one of the more grievous offenses, granted (i could list no fewer than a dozen more minor issues), but there was nothing to like about these people.

super authentic. this is the best restaurant to find super authentic thai food in east bay area. chicken satay was superb! the peanut sauce mesmerize me over & over again. lol
