amazing lunch buffet in town. when i visited this place for the first time, i fell in love with this place. their buffet is amazing and it includes the usual stuff. their appetizers are so delicious that they get over pretty soon and one has to wait in line to get a serving.

their chicken items too are simply delicious. they are quick to refill the naans once you finish a serving. you will not regret eating a lot at this place. the food is so delicious that you not be satisfied and would like to eat more and more.

their ambience is amazing and is very classy. you can visit this place during dinner time too and you will be happy with your decision. the service is amazing and they give great attention to all the customers.

this is a very good place for indian lunch buffet. it has nice combination of veg and non veg items, i had chicken laban, aloo tiki (it was only item that was average), chili chicken, lamb rich an josh, paneer, fish curry and naan. chicken and lamb were delicious and very well cooked. paneer curry was very yummy. overall, curries were a bit buttery but tasted very good.
this place is better than the one in fremont.

food was great, good interiors and hope service improves a bit.

sakoon as the name suggests will firstly give your eyes a lot of “shauk”. i have been there quite many times, and their spread has never been disappointing! although i have seen many “shakahari’z” crib, i still feel having one complete row when there are two, and most starters catering to them is comparatively “tareef-e-qabil”.
the tandoori chicken is “lajawaab” and deserves a “boht khoob” !and so is lamb and other main courses! “aur” the sweet dishes to end are comparatively “ala”.
being one of the well known indian restaurant in and and around mountain view, expect it to be “hara-bhara” in the weekends. prior bookings are recommended.
finally, give your appetite for indian food a chance and your belly to opportunity to feel the “sakoon” that this restaurant has to offer!

today we came here all the way from the east bay to try sakoon in santa clara. we have a family member who uses a motorized wheelchair and has a service dog. sakoon staff / server wasn't welcoming and took us in the back and was offering us to be seated in the corner away from everyone and isolated. when we asked why this discrimination, we are told because of the dog. i confirmed it is a service dog. they still didn't want us to sit in the normal setup. the manager came and confirmed the same thing. worst experience!! we left the place as i refuse to eat after being disrespected!stay away!!#sakoon

the food itself tastes good and the menu has a good spread. the ambiance is also pretty good unless you're shoved to the rear of the restaurant at which point you must just ask them to be re-seated. the pricing is way more for what they offer. if you really want to have a wholesome experience, try their lunch buffets which offers a variety of authentic indian dishes.

what we went for: family dinner after a visit to the google office

ambience: pleasant, filled to the brim on a monday evening with mostly indian origin folks, the 1980’s inspired fibre optic light decor caught my eye..

what we ordered: paneer tikka, grilled meat platter, chettinad chicken, butter chicken, biryani, rice, bread basket, lassi to go around

price: usd 300 for a family size of 10

verdict: seating took a while which was disappointing but given our group size and lack of reservation i really should not be complaining ; service was polite and helpful..
the most important test- the food ...was out of the world!!!!
the bite, texture and taste of the paneer tikka was divine.. all life’s follies were forgotten in that blissful bite...
the grilled meat platter was equally succulent.. the fish was flaky, steaming and just unbelievable!!! i had somehow unwittingly stumbled upon the best north west frontier food from the indian sub continent all the way in mountain view, california!
i am not joking but every single dish was simply outstanding!the malai kofta in my opinion was worthy of my high praise thought my fellow diners were not as convinced!
the biryani was brilliant too.. but i had eaten enough and as much as i wanted to stuff my innards with all this deliciousness, i had to finally reluctantly say enough!

would i return?? just for this restaurant yes i would all the way from dubai:)...

mountain view where google is headquartered is an amazing city and what gave us sakoon here was the indian buffet we tried. the spread was huge and the value for money amazing. father's day treat at sakoon and dad was the happiest! a special mention for the butter chicken and the chilli fish which had me hooked! what amazed me was the taste and texture of food and the curries was as close as you get back in india. a great value for money restaurant, this place is highly recommended for indian food in bay area if you crave it often.

this is the place where you introduce the indian cuisine to your colleagues or your date. great food quality, and a happening ambiance. i had the veg jalfrazi and it was a great relief from having paneer dishes again and again and againn and again.

this is a perfect place if you are looking for indian food. i was kind of surprised when they served tomato soup in a kettle like item but the taste, it made my taste buds dance. the snacks are the best part of this place. the food and ambience is nice. it's just that i felt it a bit costly as compared to other restaurants.
