ruth's chris steak house - fresno

you must visit this place. it is sensational. it is so good that i am compelled to post this review. get the lobster tails. they are to die for

i love everything about ruth's chris. i eat here a few times a month either with my boss (her favorite restaurant) or my husband. ruth's is everything you expect from a fine dining restaurant and more. the atmosphere is wonderful as well. i find in most fine dining restaurants it is very quiet. there are hushed conversations and the occasional click of dishes, but at ruth's i feel like i can laugh, talk, ask the wait staff questions and just relax an enjoy the amazing food. a great wine selection and not to mention beautifully cooked steaks. i order the filet mignon almost every time because it simply melts in your mouth. the service is just as impressive, my dad (who i take for his birthday since ruth's opening) swears a waiter came by and wiped his mouth before he could grab his napkin! i would recommend ruth's to anyone and everyone looking for a fine dining experience that is worth paying for.

hard to beat this steak. i have only tried this location and once...but the steak i had was fantastic. perfect medium rare and juicy. like the cliche..cut like butter...tasted sooooo good. looking forward to trying again.

disappointed. we started with the lobster bisque and it was amazing, my wife got the surf and turf with the fillet and i got the bone-in-rib eye. the fillet was very good the lobster was just good my rib eye which i ordered rare, and was warned the center would be cool, was neither cool or rare. my steak didn't have any char marks as though it wasn't grilled just cooked. i also don't like the herb butter melted on top and would not have gotten it given the option. the manager did come by and ask how things were and i didn't say anything as my wife was having a deserved night out and i didn't want to have to deal with it and because it is a steak house i would expect it right. the other thing that didn't happen was the server waiting to see if the steaks were cooked right. i really miss the vintage steak and seafood restaurant in chukchansi casino.

way over-rated!!!. the appetizer: spicy lobster was good, my husband's lobster bisque was lukewarm. main course: the steak was cooked right, but had absolutely no flavor - the sautéed mushroom were not cooked and tasted like watery mushrooms...would not go back!!!

my boyfriend surprised me on my birthday and brought me here. i was blown away! their food is amazing, the service was great, and they made us feel comfortable. granted the prices are a little out of our everyday food price range. the experience was totally worth it.

the definitive fine dining establishment. i have been to this chain all over the country and they have never failed. the fresno location is no exception. start with ahi tuna appetizer, have the lobster bisque for your starter, get the ribeye or filet medium rare (oscar style is always a good choice), pair your entree with a glass of the meritage or malbec, and finished with some creme brulee with coffee. it does not get any better.

service is always good and the food is always amazing. if you did not have a good experience, it is entirely your fault. don't order any of their steaks more than medium, you would be butchering something amazing. they have the entire fine dining experience down to a science - service training, food preparation, rate at which the meal should be served - they are experts.

rolex. a bit over a year ago or so i had a special occassion dinner here. it was not up to my expectations at all. and, did not plan on ever returning. in january we were invited to a special occassion dinner with others. though not always the best parking location we lucked out; a portent of things to come. it was friday at 6 pm. the place was packed, i mean packed. music was good rock, and the bar was 6-7 deep; and the clientle was dressed very classy; reminded me of some great wild bars in beverly hills. we had reservations. we didn't wait more than 5 minutes before being seated. the service was outstanding from the moment we sat down. the food of everyone was done to perfectio, and i am very particular about the way my filet mignon is prepared and served: perfection. everyone was exstatic about the service and food. was it not for my out of town friends wanting to experience a great evening at this specific restaurant, i probably would not have returned here, but i am glad i did, and will return again and again as long as i receive this level dining experience.

rolex. a 13th wedding anniversary suprise for my wife! someplace close, someplace special; it really filled the bill. as soon as you enter the front door you feel a sense of transending into a tranquil enviroment that is not usually found in a fresno restaurant, nor in most other citie's for that matter. the decor is "rich", and the color-scheme lends an ambiance to your feeling that you are experiencing the "rolls royce" of dinning establishments. and in fact you are! the muted background music is alluring to the heart and with a fine "call-cocktail" you can't but help to reach accross the fine linen covered table and hold your wife's soft hand in thanks. though the lobster tail was not plump and juicy, and i had to ask for "drawn" butter ... da; so i hope the chef will improve on preparing his lobsters. the steak, however, was sumptious, simply even maybe the best i've ever had anywhere. and for the most part the staff was very good; even the manager came to our table wanting our opinion,which we shared pro/con. ours was a multi hour dining delight that we eagerly await to repeat soon. the feeling here is that of the best quality of days gone by, and thrilled to know that they haven't gone. i was not put off by the priceyness, as this is truly a special/quality gourmet dinning pleasure.

outstanding. wonderful restaurant, with a wonderful waiter. ask for andrew! he is our family's favorite. ruth's chris steakhouse is 2nd to none. we are happy they are in fresno.

nice ambiance, good food,great wine. no surprises or disappointments ever . the steaks were done perfectly, the lamb melted in my mouth so good, excellent wine suggestions as usual, vegetables a little ordinary and a little noisy but the roses on our table for our anniversary made up for that. ruth chris gave us a wonderful evening just had to let everyone know.

ruth's is the gold standard. everything at ruth's chris is top shelf. the service, food, and the overall dining experience. ruth's is on the high end of the cost scale (you should budget about $50 per plate plus drinks, taxes, gratuity) my personal favorite cut of meat is the filet mignon cooked medium and favorite side item is the creamed spinach. the bread is served nice and warm so that it melts your butter. the wait staff brings your steak to you at 500 degrees f on a hot plate. this is making my mouth water as i am writing this. i have been going to ruth's since the mid 1990's and have been to 11 different locations. i think that ruth's chris is the best national steakhouse.

excellent. perfect filet, lobster undercooked but still pretty good, artsy decor, excellent service, outstanding wine list, several personal favorites here, possibly best wine list in fresno. able to please both my wife and myself with the premiums available by the glass. pretty pricey for an old guy. late, in the bar after dinner, several young women attracting attention from ambitious middle aged men. upscale meat market?
a bit spendy for a retired couple who must plan their splurges, but the cocktail hour is fun, when just a glass or two of a nice varietal and several shared appetizers are enough and a very good value. sitting at the bar occasionally almost makes us feel young again!

definitly think this is the place to go for steak! filet was awesome!! very pricey, but perfect for a special occassion.

ruth's is outstanding. while the price point is on the higher side, its hard to find a better place for a dining experience. wide range of menu choices, always prepared perfectly and served by a professional and well trained staff. give it a 10.
