one of the best in town. this is probably my wife'sfavoriteplace to eat, especially for special occasions. food isn't cheap but then again, it wouldn't be special if it was! the staff are exactly what you would expect from an upscale place and everything we have eaten has been first class! can't comment on their bread pudding as my wife knocked my take home box with my dessert in it on the floor before we left - but it sure looked good!! we went the saturday before mother's day and it was very crowded but we were ushered right in when we arrived for our reservation. my daughter had the prime rib and said it was the best she had ever eaten. in fact, pretty much everything is the best i've ever eaten!

this is one of myfavoriterestaurants in baton rouge and has been for years. always great service and great food. nothing bad i can say about this establishment. best chicken parmesan, amazing steaks and so much more.

myfavoriterestaurant in baton rouge! i always make a point to eat at ruffino's when i am in town. the food is delicious and the service is always impeccable.

great!. i love the food and wine at ruffino's. it is definitely afavoritefor my family, and pretty special, too. it was the first official dinner date my husband and i had when we first dated. however, it was dinardo's then. we never miss an opportunity to go. excellent food, service, wine and atmosphere,

ruff with the salt. a good restaurant but i believe overrated. not pleased with the antipasto appetizer and the shrimp and grits is often too salty to eat. this is one of myfavoritelunch dishes so i've ordered it there on 3 occasions. only once was it acceptable. i have never mentioned it to the waiter and have never been asked if i liked my meal even though most of it remained on the plate.

one of myfavoriteplaces. i love the martini's, the crab cheese cake, the scallops, and the bread pudding. i haven't ever had anything i didn't like there! my recommendation is to have a reservation on a weekend night.

one of my two or threefavorite"nice" restaurants in south louisiana.. from almost the day i moved to baton rouge in the mid-90s, and my stepdaughter took us here for an anniversay, ruffino's has been myfavoriteplace for special occasions. it's what the newspaper food reviewers call a "dining experience." by now i have found the items on the menu i like best and i pretty much stick to those -- veal parmesan, veal marsala, fish katie (with lump crab meat and meuniere sauce), the flat noodles (with a tomato-vodka cream sauce), and the pork tchoupitoulas (topped with barbecued shrimp). and if we're going with a couple other people with whom we can split it, the crabmeat cheesecake as an appetizer. the service has always been first-rate and we like to go a little ahead of the crowd so we can sit near the fireplace. the prices are such, unfortunately, that we can't afford to eat here regularly. (or maybe we're just old enough that we don't *feel* like we could afford it.)

update: christmas 2016 -- sad to say, this place has declined badly in the past few years. maybe it was the fact that their parking lot was blocked by road construction for nearly a year, or maybe the manager just doesn't care any longer. in 2011, i gave it 5 stars. now they're down to about 2.5. too bad.

myfavoriterestaurant!. a very busy restaurant, one of the best and our mostfavoriterestaurants in br. ruffino's offers incredible service as well as such tasty food. customer service is always superb. the crabmeat cheesecake, as well as the veal parmesan and the 16 ounce prime rib are unbeatable!! we use any excuse, such as birthdays, anniversaries and ourfavoritenye tradition to go to ruffino's! keep up the good work !!

favorite restaurant in baton rouge. i love this place and it's myfavoriterestaurant in baton rouge. i see people knocking their service but their service is too good to me (sort of overbearing if anything). and i own my own restaurant so i do know what i am talking about.favoritedishes there is the crabmeat cheesecake appetizer and for the main entee the veal michael and the cedar plank redfish.

this is the best restaurant in town! not only is the food amazing but the service staff is the best of the best. ryan the bartender made our drinks perfectly and our server, kelly was so inviting yet very meticulous with her service. only downfall is there isn't much parking space but by far my mostfavoriteplace to eat!!

wedded bliss. my husband and i were actually married in one of the banquet rooms almost 5 years ago. they catered to our wedding party with zest and made us feel at home. we continue to go there, especially for our yearly anniversary, but inbetween anniversaries as well. i'm not an italian food fan, but there is still much to choose from. myfavoriteis crabmeat cheesecake or no barbecue shrimp for an appetizer and fish katie for my main meal. ourfavoritewine, which they introduced us to, is a rhine wine from germany, called lewis guntrum riesling, so smooth for a white wine and not dry at all. my husband gets the same steak with lump (huge) crabmeat topping his filet' mignon! i've never been treated so well, the wait staff knows the in's and out's of the food on the menu as well as their specials! we go as much as we can.

maybe the best experience i've ever had dining. recently moved to baton rouge from dallas. was told by a co-worker about this place in baton rouge that reminds him of new york city. well, being that danny meyer is myfavoriterestauranteur in the world, i gave it a shot. i was blown away by the food, service and fun. i had copper river salmon that was to die for, served with wonderful creamed cauliflower. my server kept us entertained the entire meal. then decided to have after dinner drinks at the bar and i really felt like i was in the big city. so much fun and energy, the bartenders were really into the crowd and the music was perfect. will be back over and over again.

best of everything. the great thing about ruffino's is they do a great job with everything. they have excellent steaks, italian or seafood. their cedar plank redfish is one of myfavoritedishes in baton rouge, and it is something unique that i always reccomend to out-of-towners.
