lunch time. being a chattanooga boy sinse the 60's i first had a burger at roy's in the 70's what a treat, and their
milkshakes were pretty good as well, lets just say that whenever i have the opportunity to eat their
i will always jump at the chance. john and his staff are the kindness, most caring people you will ever meet, and they love to watch you eat..........................do yourself a favor try it one time.......randy

stopped in for lunch this week. one of the places where you feel right at home pretty fast. unassuming decore and freindly service. i noticed there must be a regular clientele as the banter back and forth was enjoyable.

had a breakfast plate with scrambled eggs, ham and toast. all were exactly what i expected. eggs were not dry but not heavily influenced with cream or anything extra. eggs.
the ham was "city" ham , deli sliced but done on a flat top. again. ...it was ham.

good basic food but nothing that you felt bad about as the cost was like $7.00 for the entrée.

turn some air on!. i've only eaten here once and the sandwich, fries and burger were all good. my only complaint is it was hot and stuffy in there.

this place is a down to earth, old fashioned diner. you'll see a life size cutout of elvis, a jukebox, an old bakelite radio and plenty of smiles from the staff when you enter. when we were there, andy griffith was on tv and he seemed right at home.

craving roy's. i love to eat at roy's grill every chance i get. whether it's the "just like mama used to make" chicken and dressing with real creamed potatoes, fried chicken fingers with homemade potato chips, or hamburger steak smothered in onions...i am never disappointed. even my 5 year old grandson will tell me every once in awhile..."granny, i'm craving roy's"!!

what can i say?. i am one of their repeat customers...and as long as the meatloaf stays like my mom's, the chicken and dressing stays like my grandmothers, and the staff remains like family...i will be true blue!! the new owner, john t. arnold, bends over backwards to accommodate any function that i have wanted to have there...plus he has catered many gatherings for my friends and alumni, including wedding receptions, class parties, and even a karaoke party for my birthday!! roy's rocks!!!

despite the nostalgic feel of a lunch counter, this place reminds me why i putthe past behind me. the food was just like mom used to make... and she was no chef!

fantastic fresh vegetables and different meat daily...the burger's are the best anywhere and the reuben sandwich and philly cheese are unbelievable! we eat there every chance we get. it's easy to find just across the tennessee /georgia line.

i would put the roy's burger up against any other chattanooga / north georgia restaurant and it would win hands down! best of the best of the best for burgers!

roy's grill with new owner j.t.arnold. roy's grill has the best food in chattanooga / north georgia! we've never had anything bad to eat at roy's. friendly atmosphere with great burgers, ruebens, and the meat and vegetables are to die for! you have to try it especially if you haven't been there since roy's "reopened" (again!) under new owner john arnold in september 2011.

fried chicken breast, mashed potatos and white beans. my husband and i had lunch at roy's yesterday. foremost, the food is absolutely the finest! the delicious fried chicken breast was crispy on the outside and so tender inside. the beans were seasoned to perfection, as were the made from scratch potatoes.

the ambience of the diner is of a 50's setting and what makes it especally attractive is the friendly and caring staff. next month we plan to take our yankee visitors to roy's to show them what some good down home southern cooking is all about!.......bty, elvis will be in the corner watching you.
