been here in manila, philippines for two years visited the place twice, one of the very few places where we can find good indian food. location is great and you will find many indians there specially over the weekends and holidays.  overall a good place to get the cravings of indian food satisfied when in manila.

second visit- took our friends from the uk here. mutton rogan josh & chicken madras were good. i had the dhal soup (spicy) too, it was nice. breast meat used in the madras, the mutton was cooked well. a lot more positive than my first experience. the place is defo pricey- over 2.1k php for 2 curries, 2 rice, soup starter + garlic naan.

first visit- i had the makhani butter chicken, garlic nan & rice. i asked the waitress for it to be spicy. when it was brought out it was barely warm & not at all spicy. it tasted extremely bland. the chicken used was cheap cuts of thigh, it contained lots of chewy inedible pieces. for the price you would assume a restaurant would push the boat out for breast meat. the prices you see on the menu don’t include vat, which means you get hit with an extra 30% on your bill for vat + service charge. speaking of service i had a waitress who was nowhere to be seen 90% of the time & when i caught a waiters attention at the other side of the room he wouldn’t attend as he was only able to serve his area.

because of good reviews and recommendations from indian working colleagues we gave the rich a try.
and the quality of the food absolutely exceeded our expectations. amongst the variety of dishes we had, there was none mediocre, they were all excellent.
the rich is definitely one of the best indian restaurants i have ever tried.
a bit on the pricey side - 5k pesos for six people - but definitely worth it.
we are looking forward to our next visit.

people were nice and food was good. we ordered biryani, plain and garlic naan, chicken tikka masala and palak paneer and all tasted equally good.

this for me is the ultimate comfort food! everything we ordered exceeded my expectation. i’ve heard a lot of good reviews about rich but actually experiencing it is a whole different story. we’re definitely going back here and try more of their dishes!

we ordered: palak paneer (the green one made of spinach and goat cheese, though i’m not sure if this is what its really called), chicken biryani (my personal favorite), naan paratha, mango lassi, and gulab jamun (a bit pricey for something that tastes like yema and leche flan).

we love the interiors and coziness of the place! feels like royalty inside being serve with the most amazing dishes. i just love this place. there’s bar on the 3rd floor and function room on the 4th. would be better to check their menu or ask your indian friends for recommendations before coming to this place as their menu doesn’t have much photos.

as its acronym suggests one way of describing the food in royal indian curry house is rich (royal indian curry house), they have all the right to do so because the food here is really a material manifestation of the establishment's name.

i ordered the buttered chicken and their plain biryani rice, both served on a silver platter of sorts (this is not a metpahor, though the plates may not be real silver). the buttered chicken was trully rich and sinful, its all that artery clogging goodness boiled to a steaming chicken stew. i ordered it medium hot but i felt it wasnt spicy enough, though it suited my palat perfectly allowing me to consume the whole bowl without flinching (low tolerance for spicy cuisine). the biryani rice was good, though i felt it was a little flat and didnt have the kick and pizzaz i expected from biryani rice from an establishment of this calibre (i woudve rated rich higher if not for the biryani rice).

despite this, rich is still one of the best indian restaurants in the metro and no top 10 indian restaurant lists would be complete without it.

good, food quality is the best. only if it improves the service, it can be best overall. home delivery need improvement. its very difficult to give order when the person taking order is not well trained enough.

the food was very good, but the service was quite poor. we ordered a veg samosa, veg chicken tikka, chicken curry, plain naan and tandoori roti. the veg samosa and chicken tikka (which was actually soy) stood out in particular to me.

however, the service can be much improved. when we arrived, we were not seated and had to find a waiter to show us a table. then, when we wanted to order, it was quite difficult for us to get the attention of the waiters. they did not seem to be on the lookout for orders, and it took us about 10 minutes of waiting just to get one to notice us.

this 4-floor curry house is definitely something different.

each floor serves up something interesting. the 1st and 2nd floor are the restaurant itself, where they have a menu filled with delicious indian food. some must-tries are the tandoori chicken, frankies, and murg makhani.

the 3rd floor is the sports bar where you can watch football, basketball, and cricket games live. you can also play a game of billiards on this floor for only 50 pesos per round.

the 4th floor is by far the most exciting — the aflatoon jeepney bar is where they play the latest bollywood songs and have dancing entertainment till the early morning. let's just say it's lit.

i was so full but i couldn't stop eating. everything we ordered was so good. only downside is the parking was difficult, but i won't mind that to eat here again.

in a relatively ordinary work day and in a semi-solo food adventure, our very giddy department leader took us out for a team lunch at the royal indian curry house. from my past experiences, i never really held high hopes for great and authentic indian food in the metro after being disappointed several times (with the exception of swagat indian cuisine), but i decided to suspend disbelief for the time being. after that, i safely attest that i was greatly surprised and satisfied here afterwards.

there’s been much talk on what’s the best indian food in manila. rich is almost always on top of the list and i think it’s well deserved.

the food is great, ambience is great. the staff are happy to assist. always a good indicator of how great the restaurant is.

the best biryani i’ve tasted here in the philippines. the flavors are rich and it doesnt skimp on the mutton. the rogan josh was okay, i’ve tasted better. too bad i was too full to try other dishes and for this reason, i would come back again, and again, and again (i can keep doing this)

10/10 will recommend!
