overpriced. don't get me wrong, the food was good. but for $375 for 2 people? c'mon. it wasn't that good. $57 for a *mediocre* filet is ridiculous. even the highest-end steakhouses in the us don't charge that and trust me, there was nothing *special* about this steak that would constitute that kind of price. the tortilla soup was great, my partner had salad. we both had steaks, a dessert to share, and a bottle of wine s.

good but not great and terribly overpriced. some interesting menu items but small portions and just not all that exciting. for over $100 each i want a special dining experience and this just didn't get there for me. the creme broule was great, though. for me, i'll take houstons, bob's, or something in the park cities next time.

disappointing dinner experience. this was our second visit to the mansion, since bruno has taken the helm as executive chef and unfortunately, the dinner did not live up to our expectations, based upon our first visit. after inquiring about an entree with cod and a mussel broth, i was led to believe that i was being served a version of a bouillabaisse but it didn't even come close and was so over salted that it was inedible. we had started off with a drink in the bar and i had a monopolowa vodka martini. after dinner we returned to the bar and i ordered the same martini from our cocktail waitress. she was adamant that the bar did not serve monopolowa and was downright rude. she said that the bartender surely substituted and would bring me the same drink i was served earlier. after tasting it and knowing it was a different vodka, i returned it to the bartender (who made my original drink) and asked him if he had served me monopolowa earlier. he did and said that it has always been available, contrary to what the waitress indicated!

this had to be the highlight of our family holiday well worth the extra expense . but the memories will live with us forever. every course that came out to the table was a work of art and we were not let down by the taste, the way the items were combined on the plate was a taste exploration , the balance and contrast of the ingredients and the way they were put together was mind blowing we just played musical plates so all the guests in our party go to try each others choices, it's a place you really need to visit at least once in your life before you die! the staff are so attentive nothing is too much trouble any questions are met with polite response. the sunday brunch at $49 is for the very healthy appitites champagne cocktail then 3 course meal and coffee is steal bargain and if you are heading back to uk on your return flights as we were they certainly give you the energyto get through the rest of the day, i would definatley recommend the fruit and granola with yogurt heavenly, the jalopeno sausage with farmhouse eggs and hash browns with 2 scones took some battling through, but i had to leave room for the dark choc tart dessert, i did have to remove the sprinkling of rock salt though, to fully appreciate it. 10 out of 10 , and that was the same overall impression from all the members in our party. thanks to all the staff of the hotel they were allbrilliant a real gem , and i will definatley be returning in the near future.

great service!. a few highlights from the menu: shrimp cocktail was incredible, unlike any that i've ever had. the lamb was delicious, as well as the duo of prime filet. the tortilla soup was good, a bit overhyped. the service from stephanie was amazing, attentive but not overbearing, knew the wines & the food. i'll be back!

eclectic and good. when i moved from new york i was scared at what kind of food there would be in the lone star state, to be honest i like the mansion it makes me feel like im home. very tasteful decor to go with great food, to be honest i do miss dean ferring a little.
