best chicken salad sandwich ever had. very refreshing. if we are in rhode island we'll always make sure to visit this place. they are very friendly which gives you a homely feeling. also, try their chocolate chip cookies. when we went bakery items were sold out except the cookie maybe next time we get chance to try other items.

excellent food! fantastic flavors. this is a small restaurant with about 6 tables. big take-out business and about a 20 min wait for food as a result. call ahead, order as if thou will be take-out, pick it up and eat it outside or at a table if one is open. try the italiono, it is very good. would be 4.5 stars except for the paucity of tables.

such a cute, cozy place! the sandwiches are incredible, in particular the european sandwich, and the cobb salad was very generous. the baked goods looked delicious too but we didn't have enough room. only wish it were open later on sundays!

little hole-in-the-wall. i'd been wanted to go here before my visit to newport, and then after i checked out their menu online, i wanted to go even more. i wanted to try the brie and bartlett pear sandwich, but when my family visited, they weren't serving lunch yet. i think we saw posted somewhere that lunch started at 11:30. so, we ended up getting some of their breakfast items. my husband and i each had one of the stuffed croissants ($4.95 each). he had one with bacon, egg, and cheese. mine was a vegetarian one which had spinach, egg, and gruyere cheese. our son had a croissant (not sure of the exact name--chocolate hazelnut, perhaps? for $2.95) which tasted like a croissant filled with nutella. i got a can of coke with my croissant. i'm not sure if $1.50 for a can of coke is normal pricing for the newport area, but i thought that was extremely high--maybe i think this because i am an out-of-towner? my husband got some coffee which is self-serve. he doesn't drink coffee often, but he didn't seem to have any complaints about it.

all in all, i'd say we had a positive experience. next time we are in the area, i would love to come back and try their lunches.

i know they don't have a kids menu, but they will adjust their menu for a child, such as, making a grilled cheese etc.

small place, big taste. i went to rosemary and thyme a few weekends ago while visiting newport. i went there based on previous reviews, which were pretty accurate. it's a very small place -- it seats maybe 15-20 people -- but provides big taste!

i ordered the signature item: the rosemary and thyme sandwich. it has herbed goat cheese, kalamata olives, diced tomatoes, organic greens, and herbed vinaigrette, all served on grilled naan bread. the naan is a nice touch to the sandwich. and for $5.95, it was more than enough food for lunch.

the only negative i can think of is the size of the place. i was part of a party of four, and had to wait about 15 minutes until a table big enough to accommodate us opened up. that being said, it's worth the wait!
