recently went here for a late vanlentine's day dinner. we used a groupon and our meals included 2 of the following: appetizers, pastacourse, mains and desserts. the mussels were cooked beautifully and very fresh. thepastawas penne a la vodka with panchetta. it was cooked to a perfect al dente and the sauce was over the top amazing. by the time the mains came we were both stuffed. the dessert was my favorite course. it was cappuccino and creme brule. the service was exceptional and very friendly. the only call out to make is that your tip is included on your bill and they charge it based on the original cost of all the items and still charge the hst as well. i was charged $47.47 on taxes and gratuities which is very ridiculous when my bill was only $24.87 for 2 drinks as i had already purchased a groupon. i asked the manager and he said this was their policy. groupon has been contacted about this issue and has refunded my purchase as this is is bad practice on the restaurants behalf.

after 30 years at finch and arrow road, rosa’s place has made the move to vaughan to the corner of langstaff and weston road. rosa’s is a fine dining atmosphere that is a great place to host all of life’s special events or to just enjoy a nice dinner or lunch. rosa’s place serves up lots of traditional italian appetizers and entrees, and then some. you can enjoy italian traditional soups like, minestrone, pastafagioli and straciatella, and they also serve some classic appetizers like oysters rockefeller.

rosa’s serves up lots of time-honoured italianpastadishes and pizzas, but they really do the carne e pesce dishes very well. you can enjoy from a few choice cut of steaks, to lamb and veal dishes, or if you feel so inclined you can enjoy a mixed carne plate. their seafood dishes also delight. they have a simple grilled salmon and also a few gamberi(shrimp) dishes and the coup de grace is a beautiful baked chilean sea bass. to accompany all these dishes, you have an excellent wine list to choose from. so come on down and enjoy rosa’s famous hospitality right here in the heart of vaughan!

terrible!!! my wife and i were invited here for new years last night by friends, what a mistake. it cost $140 a person and the food was terrible and stingy!

i got 1 piece of bruschetta, 1 slice of prosciutto, 1/4 of a boconcini, 1 little shrimp and some mystery processed seafood, 1 slice of tomato with 2 little black olives, a tiny slice of eggplant and some random micro salad with no dressing as on appetizer. we then got somepastaand i mean some, it was ok but nothing to write home about and again a tiny portion, so i was like ok lets see the main.

the main comes out and it was steak and shrimp and it looked good, until i tasted it wow. the steak was way over done and was a cheap cut with grissel and sinew almost throughout and was thin and tasteless, two shrimp on top were ok. its hard to screw up when there split and put on the grill top, there was also rapini wich i like so i tried a piece. let me tell i have never had a rapini that was so bitter in my life, barely edible even with the steak. most of the other ppl we were with we're spitting it out and cringing. we we also given the same mirco salad with no dressing and 3/4 of a small potato not 3 small potatos, a half and a quarter really?????

it just got worse as desert was a chopped panettone and plate of small oranges and a personal tiramisu wich was ok. so we moved on the drinks and the ladies were ordering rounds for themselves and i could not believe it when the waiter brought there drinks and told them that was the last round of shots???? wow that what $140 gets you, and at 1:15am the dj called for the last songs and killed it well before 2am.

garbage garbage garbage!!!!!!

terrible experience. food too expensive and not up to the quality of other less expensive restaurants in the area. this is certainly not the rosas place from 20 years ago. the service was poor. potatoes were raw.pastawas horrible. we had a gift certificate that didn't use to full value and had an extremely hard time to had a certificate reissued for remaining value. will never be back but it was out of principal.

never again!. went to rosa's place restaurant with my family (who came from out of province) to celebrate my daughter's first communion.
our food was served almost 2 hours later and that considering the fact that restaurant was almost empty!!!
my father-in-law scolded the waiter who did seem a bit nervous about the lengthy service situation. something was clearly not working right in the kitchen. it was so obvious after he asked us to change our food choice due to insufficient stock. we did not get our food order together. there were intervals of approximately 20 minutes between each person. one finished and the other one started. food was cold and tasteless. almost as if the meats and fish had only been boiled. i'm italian and make greatpastadishes. as a true connaisseur, i can swear on two things... #1 thepastadishes with tomato sauce at this place is crap and #2 i will never be back or recommend this restaurant to another living soul.
if you have good reviews about this place, you either eat at mcdonald's everyday or are a family member trying to bring in business. shame on you!

best italian. i find it laughable that some are claiming the food was processed or from a can and that they can makepastabetter. there is no way that anyone can make betterpastathan rosa's.
furthermore all of the slack that the place is getting for old school is strange. they're a boisterous restaurant, that's for sure. but they're caring, funny, attentive, and always have a smile - especially the wife of the owner (she's amazing! so kind and sweet and genuinely cares about her customers).
the garlic bread is the best of it's kind. i would eat a whole meal's worth of it. there's no denying it's the best garlic bread ever.
as a asian, i know it's a real possibility for places to ignore having meat-friendly menus (and even easier to have meat options and fail miserably) but rosa's has continued to impress me with it's amazing food. furthermore there's a selection of meat friendly food! (as opposed to other restaurants who only give meat the option of taking the chicken out of theirpastaalfredo).the sauce is absolutely delicious! perfect amounts of spice and flavour. thepastaitself is perfect every time. and you'll get enough to eat for the next few days (so the price is worth it - you're guaranteed a week's worth of food for the price of one meal!)
the ambiance is perfect and romantic. and the lighting adds to the mood.
it's a great restaurant with lots of variety (but if you're carnivorian, my favourite is the tortellini - mamma mia!)
great restaurant, well worth the price! would recommend to anyone!
