if you re looking for a place with an absolutely relaxed vibe and delicious food, this is where you should be heading. roots of india is located bang opposite the wework building at sag baug, marol. they have daily buffets priced at 1299/- for 2 people (prices may vary on weekends and holidays). the ambience is very relaxed, they ve used real plants extensively in the interiors which makes the experience so more better! the service is quick and the staff is very polite, a special shout out to our vishal for being so helpful. coming to the food, it's delicious! everything we ate was absolutely yumm!

what we had:
sikandari paneer
virgin mojito
virgin gauva mary
thai green curry with steamed rice
oriental noodles (schezuan)

the tandoori chicken and salt and pepper chilly chicken were lousy. all of us had upset stomachs as soon as we finished the meal. the staff didn’t seem concerned at all. service was extremely slow even though the place was empty. the meat wasn’t fresh. will never recommend this place.

roots of india is great fine-dine restaurant and bar with very classy ambiance. the staff is very courteous. the menu has selected dishes. the food was really delicious and the quality was very good.
i’m giving 4 stars because the prices are bit high
here’s what we ordered-
1. classic chicken dumplings - they were delicious
2. thai chicken spring rolls - very crispy and yummy
3. nachos - super crunchy and cheesy
4. heaven love mocktail - fruity and refreshing at the same time. love it
5. chicken fortune rice - this was amazing. the rice had generous amount of chicken pieces and veggies. super yummy 😋

roots of india is a nice casual dining and bar place at marol, andheri east. the ambience is simple and peaceful with comfortable seatings. the menu is limited having selective dishes from north indian, mughlai, chinese and asian cuisines. the brunch out here is economical but individual rates of dishes are over priced.

from the menu, we tried

▪️paneer ka sholay - big chunks of paneer nicely marinated with spices were good in taste.
▪️jalapeno cheese poppers and mexican salsa - less cheesy, not soft and not so good in taste. this was disappointing dish.
▪️veg. wontons in hunan style - fried wantons dipped in spicy gravy was nice too in taste.
▪️veg. dum biryani - properly cooked and tasted good.

the service was little slow although the place was not crowded. the staff were well mannered. overall it was satisfing dinning experience.

everything was too spicy except the rice and naan (despite being described as medium spice) but i realise this is probably because of our western pallette. you may have noticed lots of orders going to the marriott this evening and sadly all my colleagues said the same, no one could eat the food. and i like spice! would you maybe consider giving the option to adjust the heat? the naan was excellent (basically all i could eat) and the driver was lovely. sorry i couldn’t rate higher. x

visited this place after a year...tried buffet, it was nice and budget friendly, had a nice time. happy to see previous staff members 😀.

veg/non veg buffet costs around 1299 for two and for one person it is around 800.

includes welcome drink, 3-3 veg and non veg(chicken and mutton) starter, soup of the day, main course, desserts, salad, pani puri, dahi puri.

it's an average place with okaish food menu. the food is overrated and is not worth the price. too much salt in every dish. 2.5 /5

the place was very nicely made. the food variety they offer is also quite good. the quality and taste of food is just amazing. try the kale chane ka cappuccino, dimsums, pizzas, pot rice....... and last but not the least, their gulab jamun with rabdi. it was just too amazing.
will definitely recommend this place to everyone.
