finally visited the newly opened roobaru.
the staff and service were great! very friendly and welcoming.
we ordered the sharjah sambusa, thecha wings, butter chicken, truffle kulcha and butter naan. the portion was good
however, the quality of food could be better. we enjoyed the truffle kulcha - it was delicious and very rich in flavors!
the butter chicken was pretty average and the starters were decent.

lamb chops are terrible, uncooked from inside charred from outside, skip, can be passed on.
ps you only get three chops very very small size. people can do lot of stuff in the name of being fancy & contemporary!

best indian fusion in dubai probably, the samboosa was beyond great, i’m not the vegetarian type guy, but this was on another level. the chilli cheese bread was amazing!! if your hungry you have to try the smoked chicken tikka masala, beware though, you will have to share!

service was impeccable and i will definitely be coming back at least once a week 👍🏻

the food is to die for! we have been going back every-week since it has opened, i haven’t tried a single dish that i didn’t like. it’s for the real foodies in dubai. unpretentious and 5* quality and presentation of the dishes, a real gem!

lunched at roobaru last weekend and i have to say that it is a lovely addition to downtown dubai’s food scene. it’s a contemporary indian cuisine restaurant serving the indian classics with a twist. i was dazzled by everything about this place - ambiance, service, food plating and presentation.

my recommendations would be
papdi smack (indian tostada, topped with lentil chaat, pickled apricot, pomegranate and radish)
sharjah sambusa (cheddar cheese and onion samosa, with yoghurt, date and tamrind chutney, topped with a packet of oman chips)
thecha wings (a must try if you love the green chilli spice. the wings are nicely coated in this spicy peanut dressing)
axomiya seabass (the fillet is cooked to perfection in a banana leaf with aromatic spices)
truffle kulcha (one of the best kulchas i’ve had)
konkan prawn curry (southern style coconut prawn curry)
pannacotta payasam (a jiggly sweet milk flavoured pannacotta with pineapple coulis)
and in the drinks - gulabo & golden milk

overall, a great experience.

went for a family dinner last week and fell in love!
this is by far the best fusion indian i have eaten in dubai. the food is real - not pretentious portions on the name of fusion - and delicious and fresh. we tried all the veg starters and each one was amazing. my favourite was the paneer kulcha. its a must have!
the daal and nanis rice is a must try as is the keema kulcha, sambusa and corn hummus. we tried the neemboo mirch and anaar drink and both were delicous.

what really stood out to me was the service. so personalised and friendly. the servers made extra effort with my toddler - asked her name, got her free fries, played with her and made meaningful conversation with all of us.

loved the experience. will definitely go back for more.
