burger goodness. i had heard about riverside lunch from various burger blogs, so with anticipation we made our way from our visit at monticello.

the restaurant is spacious, clean, and staffed by relatively friendly waitresses. service was fast. the fries and onion rings not too special--they could use seasoned salt.

the burger was tasty, and just the right size. the patty had a nice crispness to it.

lots of locals seem to eat there, making it feel small-town. i'd recommend stopping by for a bite to eat. nice and close to area attractions.

burgers were great! cheese sticks weren't anything to write home about, but over all it was a good experience. bacon double cheese burger 👌🏻

this place has some of the best burgers and fries around, it's definitely one of my favorite places to grab lunch in charlottesville. friendly atmosphere and very good wait staff

don't waste your money. don't let the cheap prices fool you! the food is all frozen and not good at all. we ordered a few simple things and nothing was right. the food was terrible and the service was worse. they made me feel so out of place. i will never return.

top notch. great burger in a friendly down home setting. can see why there are a lot of regulars. they figured out how to make burgers in the 1930s and continue to make them the same way. great place!

good food good service no frills. if you like lace napkins and someone to sweep crumbs off your table every time you get up...this is not the place for you. tis is a great burger joint with really reasonableprices (especially for cville!). the double cheeseburger sub iw awsome! friendly service and nascar/bar decoratons. its one of my favorite places in town

riverside lunch, f yeah. the riverside should be on the foodie list of best burgers. category: greasy old-school cheeseburger. no thick kobe beef pattiers, newp.

order a double bacon cheeseburger lettuce tomato mayo or mustard. feel free to hold the ltm. otherwise, you really haven't eaten at the riverside, cause that's their trademark. that n' nascar n' sweet waitresses n' cold domestic beer (i'm with the 39-year regular who misses the old place down by the riverside / down by the riverside though. laundry, burgers, & ammo--one stop shoppin'!)

if that doesn't sound like your thing, well, now ya' know. you are missing out on a damn fine cheeseburger though....

average fries, excellent burgers. went on a friday night and it was packed. had to wait awhile but i was in no hurry so i didn't mind at all. i will be back for sure.

great, fast and affordable burgers!. we stumbled across this place one afternoon and decided to give it a try and we loved their burgers and couldn't beat the prices! if you are craving a burger like the kind they use to serve at your hometown local diner this is the place for you! we keep coming back for more!

great diner style burger. great "hole in the wall" burger joint. traditional flat, greasy burger patty. go with the double stack, it wont disappoint!

come here for a burger. so many times people try to "diversify" their taste buds by going to italian, mexican, chinese, greek even south african restaurants. but when you're in the mood for a good old fashioned american hamburger, skip the fast food joints and come here. not only are their burgers better than any fast food place, they have great fries and onion rings, sports on the tv and beer. the only way they could be more american is if they served apple pie.
