best meal i have eaten in a restaurant inmemphisin a long time. this place lives up to it's top billing and reputation. and, i was surprised that the prices were very reasonable. i have paid much more and got much less in return.

bestmemphischef and restaurant for a reason. chef came by table twice, love the attention to detail. charming interior, house with character.

- lobster knuckle sandwich
- salad with tzatziki and tempura battered pimiento cheese-stuffed okra
- wagyu beef short ribs, wild mush risotto
- signature: ny strip stuffed with fried oysters and blue cheese, topped with hollandaise, over bacon potato hash. extravagant! like a po boy with steak as bread.

being from seattle, where great food is on almost every corner, it was nice to find this restaurant. i would recommend this restaurant to any one who wants to try food from a wonderful chef that makes your taste tingle with every bite. try it, you will love it!

superb. i dined at restaurant iris for the first time tonight and was truly amazed.
first of all, the atmosphere is perfect. as soon as you arrive you can tell that this is a place where every customer is given the full attention of the staff and chef. the service is amazing but not overwhelming. the staff is very informative and extremely knowledgeable of the entire menu. its is a small restaurant with the relaxed atmosphere that is perfect for any occasion.

now to the food. first of all there are two things to take into consideration. first, it is expensive(but easily worth every penny) so if you don't want to spend about 50 per person before gratuity it is not the place for you. second if you are a person that likes their food somewhat bland in terms of seasoning and sauces this is also not the place for you.

the food is easily the best i have ever had inmemphisand probably the best i have ever had period. kelly english is a master of his art( and it is an art at this restaurant). the food was superbly seasoned and everything went perfect together. also the food was unique. he is a chef who obviously likes to experiment and is perfect at it. i recommend the oysters cooked three ways as an appetizer. the oyster bread pudding is the most interesting and probably best thing i have ever eaten. for an entree i had the surf and turf which was truly unique and amazing and my girlfriend got the shrimp and grits which was equally amazing. i don't think there is anything on this menu that will not absolutely amaze you. i will go back the next chance i get for sure.

also, the chef walking around and talking to all the customers was the perfect touch.

fabulous experience. this restaurant has restored my faith inmemphisdining. having been in business for over a year, it is quite refreshing to see that the high quality of service and food has been maintained since opening (sadly, something that is rarely accomplished in thememphisdining scene).

so about my experience: i brought my boyfriend here for his birthday this past saturday night and could not have been more pleased. the service, food, presentation and ambiance were all top notch. the chef was a class act-- on a saturday night, with every table in his restaurant filled, he stopped by each one to introduce himself and thank the diners for coming in. the food was absolutely amazing. my boyfriend and i admittedly gorged ourselves, but our favorites were the terrific raviolo, veal schnitzel and short rib. don't even get me started on dessert-- in a word, phenomenal. i'm still dreaming about the bread pudding and malt. also, there is a terrific wine list. i recommend the belle glos pinot, yum.

and, when we couldn't finish everything on our plates and decided to take our leftovers to go, they came wrapped up with adorable ribbons. so cute in fact, that i plan to reuse for future gifts... shhh, don't tell.

be sure to book a reservation... you will definitely be happy you did!
