good service, good food, good atmosphere. while the republic of the rio grande may not be as chic or posh as say house.wine, el divino's, or alhambra in mcallen, it is still a high quality restaurant here in mcallen. beautiful atmosphere, you can sit outside next to a gorgeous fountain or you can sit inside with cool decor and sensual dim lighting. food is delicious,serviceis excellent, try out the "goat cheese pizza" or the fried mushrooms as an appetizer, the ceviche is delicious too, hamburgers are great...everything is delicious and maybe a bit too decadent, but we deserve it every now and then. :)
