rein's new york style deli

my favorite spot! the sandwiches are amazing, try the baked mac n cheese but you have to leave room for dessert. the sour cream coffee cake is to due for! great spot for any time of the day!

and you can get a sandwich late!. been a fan of this place for years. excellent slaw. roast beef reuben is great! the most expensive thing on the menu is this ground beefsteak patty in gravy with mushrooms and onions, for like 11 buck, reminds me of a grownup version of those encore salisbury steaks i grew up on as a kid, only now its much tastier! the wife likes the open faced hot turkey sandwich! place can be busy early on, cant imagine a weekend, but later in the night when the crowds are down, service is quick and efficient. good stuff.

not worth your time. i've been here twice and i've had terrible experiences both times. the first time i ordered a simple sandwich which took almost an hour. the sandwich was terrible and lacked any flavor. the second time i waited and waited and waited for a different sandwich which matched the flavor of the first one. i was excited about this establishment, from someone that grew up and lived in nyc but this place is pathetic and does not come close. i advise staying away and saving your time. the food is mediocre and the service is pathetic.

the food is delicious! they have an extensive menu -- everything from breakfast all day to sandwiches, and comfort food such as mac 'n cheese. so if you find yourself traveling over the holidays be sure to include a break in connecticut at rein's.

the lord's deli. if god had a deli in heaven, this is the place. i came here a long time ago as a kid and members of my family have always stopped here on trips to new york city. so with adult tastes, it is time to give it a memorable try. you cannot beat a real jewish deli. ordered the omelette with corned beef which was sliced and wrapped around the outside of the omelette. the potatoes were freshly cut up and grilled. certainly not the frozen diced potatoes that are found in every other restaurant. upgraded to the bagel with cream cheese and lox. the lox was ribbon thin and just enough for a bagel. the waitress was very friendly and kept my coffee full. i manage to run up a high bill for breakfast but this was something special. going forward, i'm making this my stop for breakfast the next time i'm travelling to new york city and beyond.

not sure what the hype is?. i have given rein's a chance severl times and i just do not see what the big hype is. sorry, i am not impressed. the seats are most uncomfortable and i think they make them like that so you leave sooner. its crowed and does not have a cozy feel at all. the seating is very open and closely packed. everyone is always looking at other tables. i am not impressed with the food at all. i have tried many menu items too.

my whole family loves this place. best deli for miles and no one can touch the extent of their menu. but honestly, i would list it as $$, not just the $ it comes up with. but well worth it!
