the original is the best. while the menu and beer are the same at all, i've always found the food at the original annapolis ram's head to be the best and freshest. i recommend delving into the entrees especially the cajun accented ones.

while i prefer to sit in the bar area, there is a comfortable dining room and great outdoor patio in the rear which even includes enough natural shade that its comfortable on the hottest days. like most of annapolis street parking can be tough but there are two different garages near by.

disappointed. i had a certain picture in mind. when visiting the website, it was confirmed. however, when we were sat, it was a fairly plain room away from the bar and the lively action. food was ok but nothing special.

my alcohol pour was fairly light too.

warm & cozy with surprisingly tasty food. i had the summer trout with cajun spices and strawberries, my husband had bangers & mash. both our plates were clean in about 15 minutes. good beer and cider selection. the bartender downstairs was fast and friendly.

intresting food choices and great microbrew! 4.5 / 5. in my ongoing quest to sample microbrews throughout this great country i found myself at the ram's head tavern in annapolis. i was blown away by this place. i honestly expected standard pub fare and the usual run-of-the-mill microbrews, but was quickly shown the error of my thinking. this is a true tavern as the old word meant, the large dining area also gives way to a small on-site brewery, outdoor eating areas, and even a large area for musical performances (some of them from well known bands/groups/artists). while i wasn't lucky enough to time my trip to see a performance i was lucky enough to dine and enjoy myself.
the menu offers a wide array of entrees, appetizers, and more. but wait, there's more! the menu choices are not what you've come to expect from these places, there are unique recipes i haven't seen anywhere else to date (a sriracha burger with grilled peppers for example). to top it all off there is a large selection of in-house crafted beer all of which were quite good and even fairly priced, and if that doesn't suit you there is a large assortment of other beer as well. prices are fair, entrees are well sized, the wait staff is friendly, the only real down side is the difficulty in parking. this is one of my two must try places within annapolis!

fun place to have dinner. good beer selection. the downstairs had kind of a funky smell to it. had fish tacos which were tasty and a large portion for the price. would definitely return.

..a really good crab cake despite the lack of moisture within. the amount of spice was nice and complimented the flavor of the crab meat well. the double platter with the huge potato was quite a meal, so if you're not that hungry, go for the sandwich, or ask if there is a single platter option (one wasn't listed on the menu).

good atmosphere with the out door seating. the disappointment was not having the burger cooked to my request. although it was replaced, but after everyone was finished. probably a service issue more than anything.

great place for some brews and food. onion rings are slammin. place gets crowded @ times. especially when the naval academy kids come to celebrate. not too far from other bars on main street in downtown annapolis. definitely recommend.

good at brunch. sunday brunch in annapolis is a competitive time. lots of venues and lots of diners. after finding our first choice closed my friend opted for the ram's head tavern - i am not sure why - i didn't choose it. most of the action seems to occur in their garden patio and on the street. my friend wanted to sit inside and there were tables available so we did. that could explain our service that ranged from attentive to indifferent. perhaps our waiter was too slammed outside to pay attention inside but his colleagues tried to pick up the slack. for a pub food brunch, the food was pretty good. my friend chose the kent island salad - spinach and tomatoes with grilled chicken and a jalapeño and cilantro vinaigrette. didn't know jalapeños were indigenous to kent island. my snottiness aside, it had a vivid and fresh taste that could be a bit spicy for some but my texas ex thought was perfect. i had the firehouse biscuit egg sandwich - scrambled eggs topped with bacon and cheese served in biscuits. they were very tasty! i would say this place is better than average in the pub food genre.
