have been to this place many time before. and each time we go there, we resolve to gobble food more than the previous time. the open village ambience, polite servers, very quick service (sometimes so quick that you don't know whether to accept more food or not) all this is a wholesome experience in its own.
winter evenings are the best to visit this place for big family dinner. once you pay for the thali and enter, you are transported to a village type locale, away from the hustle bustle of the city. one can wander among the lush gardens and plots for as long as one wants. potters, puppet shows, singing musicians, snake charmers, magicians - they all add to the quaint charm of this place. we reached there early enough to enjoy the rajasthani dance, laze out on the cots and enjoy tasty juice (ginger lemon/ lychee pineapple). then we were escorted to our table, sorry open hut. exclusive gazebos which are comfortably made for varying group sizes are set out. the brass plates, bowls and glasses lend an authentic air to the experience.
the food is so rich, tasty and tempting that you cannot resist second serving of any item. by the time you finish eating thepla, bhakhri, rotlo, saakh, dal, kadhi, papad, maalpua, mohanthaal accompanied with aachar, makhkhan, ghudh, lasan chutney, salad, marcha. you are already gasping for breath. then comes the khichdi. you very vehemently refuse it, but the serves very pleasing induce you to taste it and then you have fallen for the trap. it is so tasty that you cannot stop with one spoon.
but the best part about the food here is that in spite of it being rich and full of ghee, it is light on your stomach.
all in all, an experience you should not miss
