when it comes to persian restaurants in la, this place is no.1. everything from the hummus to the chello kebab, kubidey, tastes v. good here. prices are a little higher than most persian restaurants but it's great. all my persian friends agree. better to reserve on the weekends as it is crowded... very tastyfoodand a good atmosphere.

thefoodcomes at you on some seriously, generously sized plates, filled with rice infused with saffron. you’ve have your entrée, a roasted tomato, and hummus. you got to have the hummus.

ok, this is not really a review of the food… it is the wait for the table and then forfoodthat i will be talking about. review of the menu items will come later.

let me just say this anyway: thefoodis really good, once you actually get to eating it. arguably the best i have had in los angeles so far. the place is just always so busy and it takes so long to get a seat.

last sunday at 4 pm i put my name on the list and waited 10 minutes. table for one, so you would imagine it would be fairly quick. wrong. i walked down the street to shiraz restaurant (0.3 miles), sat down, ordered, and by the time my soltani was on the table i got a call that my table at raffi’s place was ready.

is thefoodthat good? if one has nothing to do, with a group of friends willing to hang out in the parking lot and chat, then it is worth the wait. otherwise there are other options.

so many better options.. normally i let mediocre restaurants slide. but given the consistent 5-star reviews, i felt i had to comment. honestly, i'm flummoxed by all of the high praise. we were in the neighborhood and given its high yelp rating, we decided to check it out. we ordered the lamb and boneless chicken kabobs + a greek salad. both the lamb and chicken were pretty dry. and the greek salad was just okay. definitely not 5-star worthy. you do get huge portions. but with the quality of this food, i'm not sure that's a good thing. with all of the other options for middle easternfoodin glendale & los angeles, i'm surprised this is at top of people's lists. maybe an off night? but we'll never go back.

too pricey!. from the looks of it, we just walked into the iranian/armenian mafia headquarters. the dress code is tacky.
thefoodis ok, but prohibitively overpriced and assumes you have tons of laundered money to throw away. service was slow, but the waiter was nice. quality, homemade nan, was non-existent; appeared to be some sort of store bought and bland, unheated crap. wouldn't waste my time or bank roll on this crowded and uninspiring pit.

in a word, outstanding! i am single and thus usually dine alone. most restaurants are not polite single party customers. raffi's was an exception! the service was exemplarly and thefoodwas great. i had the soltani kabob. lots of good quality food. 5 out of 5 stars.

best persianfoodin glendale! koobideh beef kebab and chicken barg kebab are my favorite two items. be sure to take your calculator as the management may overcharge your bill.

great intro to armenian-persian food. atmosphere was classy and homey at the same time. ordered lots offoodto share family-style with a group of friends - great choice because we all got our fill (and more) sampling a variety of tasty, wholesome armenian-persian cuisine.

only don't try the yogurt soda... it's like fizzy liquid toothpaste.

i got the chicken barg kabob and it was really good. it is served on a delicious bed of basmati rice and it comes with delicious roasted tomatoes and green bell pepper. thefoodis a little pricy, but the portions are huge, so it's definately worth it.

amazing rafael!. excellentfoodevery time. my favorite it the barg (beef filet). the best chalot yogurt you'll taste anywhere! the ambiance is comfortable but they allow smoking in the outside areas :0(

you must meet rafael, one of the waiters there. this man is amazing. he is a native spanish speaker but has picked up armenian and farsi with absolutely no accent whatsoever!
