rack & helens bar and grill

suprisingly great food. i am a non smoker and don't really notice the smoke but i go on sundays. sundays are family day so those that just want to complain about something before they have eaten there, go on sunday. i've tries many things on the menu. my favorites are the mexican items and the bbq chicken pizza. i just wish they had a family room for days other than sunday so my family could eat in instead of doing carry out

i don't like smoke. rack & helen's allows smoking so i won't/don't frequent this establishment. when mayor mcdonald grows some balls to outlaw smoking in private places..............i'll probably frequent these non-smoking places when they become available.

great food and service on a saturday night when there were pretty busy! i'm passing through this town and wish i could come back again soon.

my favorite resturant!!!!. i love this place! they have put lot's of money and upgrades to this restaurant! lots of beer on tap and lots of food for the price! i love there salsa (unlike bandido's nasty chuncky salsa) it has a great flavor! i love there nachos! unlike (wings etc) you don't get nasty round chips and runny beans with no meat! you get so much meat and other stuff, it is hard to finish! and my favorite is the grinder! rack & helen's is easy to find, great staff and excellent food! i go there all the time and i'm from fort wayne..lol...

awesome. it is always a positive for me when a restaurant starts you off with chips and salsa. i particularly enjoyed rack and helen's salsa and they give you a bottle of it so you don't have to wait for refills. i ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and not only was it two large chicken breast but it was tasty. i had a great experience the atmosphere was very cool and the staff excellent.

great food and outstanding servers. we go at lunch to avoid the smoke and they have the best lunch servers in the area. food is always exceptionally good, always hot and fresh. service is the best in town, bar none!!! every bar needs to adopt their philosophy on waiting tables. you don't know who will take your order, bring your food or refill your drink. it just gets done in a friendly and efficient way. awesome place to eat!

great food, good portions, reasonable prices. my favorite are the cheese enchiladas. they come smothered in a brown enchilada sauce and covered with cheese. so yummy! the burgers are huge as well, and the sausage rolls are fantastic!

good food - consistently. negatives - (a) waaaaaaay over in new haven ;) , (b) the smoke, even though there are "smoke eaters" , at times can be overwhelming, and (c) quite crowded at times, leading to difficulties in finding seating and/or longer waits on the food delivery.

positives - (a) well, since they are that crowded, shows just how good they are!, (b) food is quite good, (c) service is always with a smile, (d) prices are reasonable, and (e) decor is enjoyable, pleasant wood surroundings, comfortable.

update - august 20, 2010 - two of my favorites continue to be the sausage rolls [add ham, bacon, and chicken to it to create a 'special'] and the pulled pork sandwich [the 1 pound version - yea, i love leftovers ;) ]. the chips and salsa, for a place that is not a mexican restaurant per se, are both quite tasty. and, you will not go thirsty here - example, today's lunch wait staff brought over 3 cherry cokes, each time a new one just as the previous one was not even 1/2 empty - the last one put into a go cup. good food, good service.
