amazing, i am a fanatic. i have been to this location 4 times now, all within the last week! the bbq is so amazing. each sauce i try is better then the last. the pulled pork and pulled chicken sandwiches are the best. i wish i could write more about this place but i have to run. their deliciousmeatand sauce is calling my name. getting hungry, gotta go!

simply fantastic. the "wet" ribs aren't really wet per say more a dry run with sauce poured over them but still really good. truthfully themeatalone without sauce deserves the highest ratings and then you add the sauce and it is truly fantastic. i am now hooked.

im a q fanatic!!. the best sandwiches in the world. my boyfriend and i have tried the chicken, pork, and brisket and love them all. themeatis juicy and the sauces are very tasty and the bun it comes on is amazing. were obsessed with this place. i hope its around for a long long long time!

a good place for bbq. themeatis very accurately cooked and still flavorful. their quantity is huge. it’s one of the best places in champlin. their side sauces are yummy. also, for vegetarians their vegetarian sandwich is awesome. full of veggies.
would love to try again.

as soon as you entered the parking area, you could smell the great aroma of burning woods. it was definitely a legit barbecue place from the get go. no wonder they have been featured on tv. yes! this tiny place that's practically in my backyard has been on tv.

my first time there, it was a tad confusing inside as you need to order at one side, and the food will came from the side closer to the line. it's those order first and sit type places, half fast food half sit down. good thing i was just usually getting take out. it took about 10 to 15 minutes to get the food. callingfirst and place the order ahead of time would be recommended. there's free popcorn while you wait

i had the special rib tip dinner for my first try. it was so cheap! my dinner was just a little over $6. i got a roll, cole slaw, a side of your choice, and the rib tip. i thought it was very good value. themeatwas flavorful but being tip, it was a bit dry. i also am not sure if i was in love with the sauce. i chose the original. it was a tad watery for me. however, on next try, i did love the ribs a lot.

not bad! it's pretty cool to be able to get real barbecue anytime i want.

themeatis great.... they do need bettet vegetables. they have way too much char on them... and i like a little char! i also wish they had cornbread. the fritters are jusy okay?

themeatwas where q fanatic shines. our spare ribs were served dry and had a fairly strong smoke flavor. themeatwas that perfect mix of tender yet kept it’s form when eating. don’t buy into that whole notion that because it falls off of the bone it must be good. good bbq ribs keep their form! they served our sauces on the side. the honey bbq sauce was the best of the bunch.

ok but please cut back on the salt!. really been in the mood for bbq and not usually that thrilled w famous daves or dickies. this place sounded really yummy and i love supporting family/non chain restaurants. service was fine, place is fine..food was good but..why is everything so salty!!! i knew it was by the time i got home and my legs swelled..ate the leftovers (yes, there were leftovers!) today and themeatwas so salty..otherwise..i would go back if they would cut back on the salt!

not good. when we complained to the owner their ribs were not fall off the bones as their cashier described them, we were told this is the way we serve them in the south. really, i have been in the south and if you order fall of the bones, you get fall off the bones. not the ones you have to chew to get themeatfrom the rib.
the owner should of apologized and gave us something else, but he chose to stay with "his ribs were right and we were wrong."
they are not right if the customer doesn't like them if you have to chew themeatoff the bone.
customer service was insulting and he has lost our business.

overrated, overpriced, hit or miss. the bbq is completely overrated. it's always hit or miss. the service is just as bad. they have no system whatsoever. it used to be a good place to go to until they got crazy busy. i usually get the q picnic combo. themeatused to be fall off the bone and tender, now it seems like it's rushed. also random pieces of "spicy new potatoes" will be cooked/uncooked. not to mention that it's a bit pricy for mediocre barbecue. however, it's still better than famous dave's. i wish the owner would come up with some kind of working system to make things flow more smoothly, i feel like this place has potential since it was good before all the chaos!

this bbq is over-rated in my opinion. small portions without the small price. a $40 platter to go and themeatfit in one to go box. im not sure they even smoke their meat. it left something to be desired.

good and i'll go back. i'm suprised to read all the negative reviews. i drive by there from time to time and always see cars there, so we tried it today. we were greeted immediately and given instructions on their process. the gal behind the counter was pleasant. later there was a younger guy helping customers and he was friendly as well. themeatwas very tender, the sauce was delicous, and the house vinagrette was really, really great! we'll definately go back.

waste of $$. saw the dd & d food network program- love bbq, have had it in many states, particularly the south, so was excited to think there might be something compatible in the tc. unfortunately, the whole experience was not a positive one and i have no idea why it's rated this high on urban spoon, or elsewhere. themeatwas extremely fatty- the brisket had great flavor but just poor quality. the pulled pork was mostly fat and had no flavor. the sauces aren't bad, but you have no idea what any of them taste like. so that doesn't help in the experience. most everything was bland, including corn fritters and steak fries. and the front counter staff were not particularly friendly- seemed to be an inconvenience for us to be ordering. sorry q, but we will not be back and not be recommending you.

back to basics - score 100%. 2/22/12: enlarged venue - they must be doing well. i can understand why. this bbq is just plain great. for a new twist try the espresso sauce. and the parmisan potatoes and new potato salad should both get awards.

4/16/11: finally! a restaurant that demonstrates a real understanding of barbeque principals:
1.meatis number one. choicemeatis necessary, the inherent flavor and texture do not depend on cooking technique or sauce.
2. smoke adds flavor and character, but does not cook the meat. rub is optional, depends on style.
3. slow low heat tenderizes and renders, giving fall off the bone tenderness and leanness.
4. hot grille and flame reheats and chars the meat, and will caramelize sauce.
5. sauce is last. it makes a barbeque unique, compliments and tempers the meat. spicy heat is optional.

themeatis high quality and smoked every day in the smoker at the back of the parking lot, then prepared to order. they take the time to do it right. the 4 times i've eaten here in the last 3 months, the time from order to serve was about 20-25 minutes. i'll bet it's longer when they are busy. and the appearance on drive ins, diners, and dives adds to the demand.

over the last 3 months i've had the pork spare ribs, pork back ribs, the pulled pork, and the sliced brisket. i'd call them st louis style (rather than texas, carolina, or southern). the price was good and the portion decent. in each meal themeatwas lean and very tender, with nice smoke and a nice touch of char. there a 6 signature sauces to choose from, each obviously made with tlc, and each attracting its own fans.

the sides are decent and in generous portions. though not typical barbeque fare, the parmesan potatoes are my favorite. the coleslaw is flavored right, but too loose. the corn fritters need something else, i'm not sure what, perhaps some salty bacon.

service is at the counter, choose your own table. ambiance is a bit city for the bbq crowd, with a markus pierson coyote poster at each table. noise level is good. parking is easy. cleanliness is good. restrooms are clean.

in previous reviews i see reports of service problems, but for me the service has always been good. this is not a fast food joint, and preparing a meal to order takes time.

amazing bbq. the ribs were out of this world, fall of the bone tender and perfectly smoked. the vinegar sauce on the pulled pork was fantastic. i was also impressed with the parmesan potatoes. as far as people suggesting themeatisn't smoked that's ridiculas. you can see the pink smoke line just under the surface of themeatand can smell the wood fire smoke in the air when you step out of your car definitely smoked bbq here. the service was excellent hanna explained the menu with true patience and a smile. i will be back.
