nothing fancy about this place. it is a complete family restaurant in every sense of the word. the ambiance is simple and tidy. the food has always been good. if you are a food lover, you should not miss out.

good food but slow service ... chicken tandoori was delicious.few of my friends tried veg .their opinion was also great about it. if u r in dehradun u can give a try .

i have been there 2-3 times with friends and family.the service is good here.when i first entered here..i found ambience is ok ok type. the place was fully crowed and it is located at prime location in dehradun.that time i ordered butter chiken and nan..my all friends like its taste.next time we ordered some veg stuffs like paneer dish, dal makhni, malai kofta etc. all turned out to be delicious.one can go over there to eat yummy food.

have been to shere punjab many times for family dinner. be it my parents wedding anniversary or my dad's birthday, i have fond memories of our small get togethers there. both the floors are crowded and the place seems to be small at times. food is good and presented with butter or cream. prices have been okay, considering the fact that it is in a prime location. ambiance is average, not much happening. have had no complaints on quality so far.

one of the known names in the city, the food is rich and heavy, loads of cream and butter, definitely the place is not for the faint hearted.

and the portion sizes are large enough, i would recommend their spring rolls in particular. the service is slow and i mean pathetically slow.

a thali is good enough if you can't make up your mind.

punjab restaurant is from the time when you could count dehradun restaurants on your fingers and i have heard a lot of praises for the restaurant by some old timers. i have visited this restaurant twice based on my friends recommendations and both of my outings have been a let down. firstly they take a lot of time to fulfil your order and secondly the butter chicken i ordered both times was pathetic.the chicken did not at all blend with the gravy. cooked in already prepared sweet gravy it looked like the chicken pieces were just boiled and put in the gravy.

i have lost count of the number of times i have had food in punjab restaurant. in the ambience department, the restaurant is still average, although there have been subtle improvements in the decor over the time. for some reason, the restaurant seems compact to me, even though it has two floors. parking of four wheeler is a problem because the restaurant is located right next to the main road. however, the reason that i still prefer takeaways from here than from any other restaurant is their indian cuisine. i simply love it! my all time favourites are missi roti with malai kofta. whenever in doubt, i just order these, and the chefs never disappoint me. their stuffed naans and dal makhani are good too.
