decided to give this cafe a shot. so visited on a weekday morning, and we were welcomed by a lovely cutestaffthere 😊.
it was a small quiet cafe and thestaffwere really attentive and smiling. took our order and the food came out well presented. they gave us generous portions of the smoked salmon which was a bonus. coffee was great and food was reasonably priced.
this cafe is hidden in a corner away from the busy strip and deserves more attention!

very nice and quiet little corner café with lovelystaffand service.
very reasonable price for big portions breakfast.
we had the poached eggs with smashed peas, chorizo & house tamariuo chutney, and poached eggs with sweet potato rosti, both very nice and well decorated.
the house tamariuo chutney is a highlight of the meal, very rich taste and texture, matches perfectly with the poached eggs. however the poached eggs falls into harder side, a touch overlooked. chorizo, bacon, and halloumi belong to the above average side, could have made the texture a little bit either crispier or softer, otherwise they all feel pretty firm to eat.
overall a very nice experience for breakfast with lovely mountain view from the windows.

this was my first venture into food in tasmania (my first visit to tassie) and i wasn't disappointed. multiplestaffgreeted me with a friendly hello (hobart seems to do friendly service a lot better than melbourne). i sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful september sunshine without having to put up with smokers. the poached eggs on sourdough with halloumi, cumin yoghurt and smashed avocado perfectly hit the spot, as did my ice coffee. i can see why this cafe has such a high rating, they excel at customer service as well as food, something that many places struggle to do (often you find places can be really great at one but not the other.)

quirky little place on the corner of andrew st, just away from the busy cafe-centric elizabeth st that runs parallel. went here as we had read some rave reviews on here, and whilst it was a very nice place it probably fell short of top echelon.

the beans in the baked eggs weren't quite hard enough, and the poached chicken turkish toastie lacked a killer punch that would separate it from just another good breakky.

that said, both meals were still enjoyable, thestaffwere friendly, price/portion ratio was respectable and you get a good little view staring out to mount wellington when you sit window-side!

well, this is not an easy to find cafe since they are not located at a prime area and they don't put a signboard. but an effort to find it were paid off once the coffee and/or were served.

we were very exciting once we arrived at this place. thanks to a friend who drove the car and google map for show us the way.

it is a simple cafe. as we entered the premise, the first impression were homy, friendly and warm. it is like a community coffee shop.

if you are a coffee lover, please check the single origin of the day. i had an ethopian sidamo. the taste was excellence. sweet, berries and choco. by the way, never try a single origin but black coffee. mix it with sugar or -even worse- make it a flavored coffee by adding milk etc will ruin the originality of it. please don't do that.

for food, please check also the special offer of the day.

when i said "this cafe is simple and homy", it solely refers to the look and feel. when it comes to the food, it is a masterclass level, both for taste and presentation as well.

i ordered poached egg with bacon, smashed mint peas, tamarillo chutney and toast. it sounds like a normal simple food, isn't it? now, look at the picture and see how they put everything on plate beautifully.

this is a food you don't want to finish it quickly. you want to taste it bite by bite slowly to allow your senses and emotion drown into the pleasure of eating. in my case, to enjoy the sweet and sour chutney in the middle of a fresh smashed mint peas and the softness of the poached egg.

if you visit hobart tasmania. hunt this place for breakfast. put it on your itenerary, ask your buddies or hotelstaffhow to reach this place, walk if you have it worths that much ;)

nice vibe..great coffee and service. recently visited this cafe, loved the experience. it was clean, fresh and had a great airy ambience to it. tables are arranged so that you can have a great chat without touching the elbows of the diners next to you...after an overload of carbs earlier in the day i requested my smashed eggs straight up not on the normally menued sour dough...this presented no problem to thestaffat all..the food came to the table, well presented, plentiful and above all, it was really tasty. the coffee was one of the best i've had in ages too!! if you are looking for somewhere to relax and chill with a good magazine or to catch up with a friend over a good coffee..this is the place. i'll be back for sure :-) .
