amidst restaurants, baking maida and cheese, thisrestaurantis truly a blessing.
nice varieties of dosas with a homely touch. rotis were economical and filling. special curry (side dish) is simply superb.
note - ground nut chutney is the best of all.
totally worth it.

thisrestaurantis almost same as thirukural unavagam in adyar. thisrestaurantas well is located in adyar. quantity of the food is less and its limited, you cant ask for second time. its bit costly then thirukural unavagam. there is no air condition in this restaurant. not bad, we can try once.

ambience: 2.5/5 (this is a mess kind of setup, so rating is not for ambience but cleanliness)
food: 4/5
service: 4.5/5
value for money: 4.5/5

overall 4/5

this place is on the top lists of any blogger, and review sites. so decided to visit for some authentic southern taste. from the waiting time, the place appeared to be quite popular among the locals.

this is not kind of arestaurantor cafe but its more of a mess kind of setup. it is set up in some kind of residential property. so you can't expect any good ambience but i felt there's a huge scope to keep the place clean.

coming to food, we ordered benne dosa, ghee roast dosa and kulhad kulfi. they taste really good. the sambhar and chutney were amazing. if you love spicy and tangy tamil nadu style sambhar like me, over sweet karnataka style, you'd like this place. kulfi was okay and frankly i didn't have huge expectations as well..

service was very good. all employees were very polite and prompt.

overall a decent place for south indian food but i felt slightly overhyped in different platforms including zomato.

returned to thisrestaurantafter a very positive pre-pandemic experience.

was totally disappointed when we landed there for a sunday lunch. even though this compactrestaurantwas not full, the staff and owner were totally indifferent and failed to serve us. the waiter did acknowledge us and promise to come and take our order but failed to appear even after a total wait of more than 20 minutes. the staff appeared disorganized and as if they had never seen more than 4 tables occupied. the 4 of us had to leave hungry and disappointed to another joint. ambience has become a bit grubby now and could do with some sprucing up. however, it's unlikely that we'll be returning, at least for now.

this is one of the places where we walked in looking at the name board and were very happy we did that.

since we started millets at home three years ago, we know the efforts that go in curating a meal for palates only used to only rice/wheat. mr.krishnamoorthy and his team do a splendid job of crafting just the right meal for you. we had the well presented 4 millets thali was rich and fulfilling as a meal. didn’t feel stuffed, nor did we feel hungry even several hours later. the dessert made with jaggery was delicious and reminded me of the aravana payasam that is part of the sabarimala prasadam. it turns out they use the same kind of jaggery.

there is a different spread each for breakfast, lunch & dinner. the décor has a lot of wood and is very functional.

we only planned on having a millet lunch and were happy to have chanced upon this place while walking around in the chennai heat.

we sampled some vadas - prepared like meatballs but made from soya & packed with protein.
got to meet the owner and heard the back story and the thought behind the restaurant.

millets don’t come cheap but the meals are well priced and there’s certainly no compromise on taste.

on sundays, they offer jackfruit(small & raw) biriyani which is finger licking good. a ‘must visit’restaurantin chennai.

arestaurantwhich serves healthy veg food in chennai.

i visited this place with my friend last weekend. we had a nice experience. i would say thisrestauranthas met our expectations in terms of food.

we ordered chapati with dal, millet meals and panakam. chapati with dal was good. millet meals had four different types of millet sadam. sambar sadam and rasam sadam are my favourites. panakam had more jaggery content in it, so i couldn't consume it. since therestaurantdoesn't use artificial colors or flavors, i was a bit skeptical about the taste. but once i started having food, i felt like home food. the usp of this place is the drinking water they serve. since it is treated with camphor, cardamom and a few other spices, it tasted good.

prices are appropriate for the quantity and quality of food. service was good, but it could be better. we went to therestaurantaround 3 pm. this may be one of the reasons why we felt service could be improved.

ambience needs improvement. considering the cost of food, this could be ignored.

i would recommend this place to people who are very keen about healthy food. people who haven't tried millet food may not like it in the first go but should get habituated after multiple visits.

hygiene - 3.5/5
taste - 4.5/5(considering the tasty food using millets)
service - 3.5/5
ambience - 3/5
price - 4/5

overall experience - 3.5/5

little did i expect before going here, as most of friends did not tell what it is specifically, they just said it is good place to have food. but it is really a special place and should be given more recognition than it is given right now.  onlyrestaurantwhich has all the items made with millets.  menu has just the required number of dishes instead of having more fancy names. i must say that water is so tasty here. it has a touch of basil and tasted so naturally satisfactory. i tried regular meals and ragi roti here.  rasam sadham was ultimate and sambar sadham too (all are made with millets). sweet also made not with sugar but with quinoa rava and palm jaggery and it is soo tasty. i also tried the coconut sweet they have at the counter for sale, that was so tasty too. whenever i eat the regular meals here, i feel so satisfactory from within. do try this place if you are in chennai.  happy eating !!!

thanks to a temple visit we got a chance to visit this restaurant. as it was a veg day and we didn’t want to go to our regular abode sangeetha, we visited prems graame bhojanam.

first up we called therestaurantto check for car parking, which was not available so had to park it in the street next to it, which was not easy because of a horde of ‘no parking’ signs. somehow we managed to park at a far end.

therestaurantwas a house modified superbly, utilizing the space to the fullest, thus by giving a chance to feel like home as well as being professionally served. it took a good 20 minutes to get a seat as we went during prime time on a saturday evening. but the wait was worth it as the people were friendly in handling customers. in fact that’s the major plus there.

so coming to food, as we had a lot of time to scrutinize the menu we chose what we gonna order before we got a seat. we ordered a mini tiffin which contains half thatte idli, one benne dosa, three kuzhipaniyaram and one among the beverages which consist of buttermilk, paanakam, sukku coffee. seeing the reviews we chose sukku coffee. the package is totally worth it as you get the best of the basic and the filling is wholesome. the fact that chutney and sambar would be at table was an additional advantage because having the sides at our disposal means we can use it as much as we like, more importantly not waste anything. groundnut chutney was my favourite, my family member liked the tomato chutney. sambar was liked equally by all. kuzhipaniyaram was brilliant. thatte idle was huge in size and soft too but i prefer a spicy chutney when it comes to thatte idli. benne dosa again was very good.

neer dosa was not available so we ordered red rice dosa which was decent. dosa was very dry to my taste. pesarattu was good but as i once had it from an andhra grandma i don’t think i’d give 5/5 to any pesarattu ever. thinai rawa onion dosa was good but couldn’t beat sangeetha’s onion rawa dosa. onion rawa is my favourite of all tiffin items of the south. so i wasn’t overwhelmed by it. kavuni puttu sweet was top notch. nothing like i’ve tasted before. it was too sweet but i like it too sweet.

among the starters the sweet potato crispies were good but i was expecting something like wedges so didn’t like it much. we anyways parcelled it and had as a tea time snack the next day. millet bajji was decent but oily. sukku coffee like the reviews said, was to die for. you’ll definitely be relived of your cold if you have one cup of it. kulfi on the other hand was a disappointment, it was too hard, felt as if even the spoon would break.

well, how can i go without saying the best item which was not in the menu but served compulsorily to all? water. one sip and you’d know what i’m talking about. in all a totally satisfying saturday night vegetarian experience which i’d have given 4.5 star but thanks to zomato’s policy of no 0.5’s i’ll rate it as 4. (still don’t understand why they removed 0.5’s from their rating)

a friendly unique healthy and tasty vegetarian place. it is a must try for adventerous vegetarians with a taste for south indian flavors. recommend only the limited thali. it is relatively affordable for the thali option. service was good. the time we went was very quiet - weekday lunch hour and a rather rainy day as well.restaurantcould have a better sparkling upkeep given that it is super small but seemed clean nevertheless. will certainly go back on future visits.

i was riding through adyar and wanted to try thisrestaurantfor dinner. heard good reviews from my friends. came to therestaurantat 730 pm. ordered sweet potato fritters, benne masala dosai and kulfi. the fritters was really good, a bit salty to my taste. benne dosa , i never expected the dosa to be so thick. but the ground but chutney and sambar was extraordinary. next time will try the ghee roast. thick dosa are not my forte. kulfi was good. a bit over priced for my liking. cost some 72 rs. overall was a nice experience.

i have dined at their bangalorerestaurantlast year and was amazed that so much could be made from millet, and it could all taste so delicious.
i had the set meal today at the adyar branch of prem's, that consisted of a thaali and every dish made
in millet millet sambhar, millet rasam, millet coconut rice, millet roti, et all.
love their , panakkam and don't forget to try their millet kulfi for dessert!

find that quality has declined. akki/ragi rotis and ragi/cholam roast were not fully done. also packing is very inconvenient. with 6 rotis & roasts we got over 20 small plastic covers of sambar /chutney/others we didn't quite know what was in. each roti /roast ought to be packed as a unit with their respective side-dishes/accompaniments.restauranthas a great concept and with some changes can go far

as we were death by hunger i just googled restaurants near me and found "prems graama bhojanam" i read some of the good reviews about their food. i had just gone their menu and was surprised to see that they serves idlly to dosa from farmed ingredients such as ragi pacha payir green gram cholam what not? and soon ordered mini uthappams, pacha payir and cholam. taste was quite good but i wish i had it in theirrestaurantso that i could have had freshly prepared dosas. and i should say i was totally disappointed with the curry which made my mouth pucker a little bit too much if youre ordering from zomato there would be an option for you to choose from chutney and curry, i would prefer their chutney over curry but in the same time i should appreciate them for the tasty kadal chutney and sambar which was really good.

i would prefer this place to have a healthy traditional village food at its best.
