do not bother with thisplace- wildly overpriced for what your get - the prawn and crab salard was three tiny lettuce leaves, artfully arranged, three small frozen bag from the supermarket prawns and i don't know which tin of crab meat they decided to throw in from afar - you certainly couldn't taste it for $24.00. i can buy a kilo bag of frozen jumbo size prawns at pak and save for this price. rip off.

if you're looking for a stylish inner city cafe that has charm and great food, then this is your ticket. plenty of seating, great service, upmarket feel with a russian vibe and an interesting menu make thisplacestand out from all the chain cafes in the area. had a great time and the green eggs benny was flavourful and delicious!

love visiting thisplacewhen i am in town. my favourite has got to be the steak, served with seasonal greens and a glass of local syrah. fabulous.

aplaceto be if you want a serious and tip-top service, huge selection of nz wines. exceptional service, with good food. the only thing i wanted more was a wider selection of beer on tap, some exotic/imports wines and wider selection of cocktails. me being a alcohol admirer, love having something new every-time i go out.
      may turn out to be a boring place, better come with some friends or family. friendly customers service, i think there is no bar tender, because i was alone and bored all the time. they do some free sides (cheese, olives and pickles) on thursday (i guess).
    worth coming, especially if on a date. will end by saying, sweet, not so loud and warmplaceto have some drinks and food....... :)

if i had had 3 courses i would have given a 5. i will have to go back and rectify this. 
i went here before an event to catch up with a friend. we went through the entertainment book and decided this was theplacewe wanted to try. neither of us had ever been and it was a good choice.

we walked in not knowing the layout and were met by a lovely staff member. we were taken to an excellent table in a corner where we both got to sit on the comfy chairs. the room was lovely and warm and the noise level was just right. for our entire meal the service was excellent, professional and just right.

for my meal i chose the vegetarian option that i would never cook at home, this was a very good choice as it was very much my kind of thing. i enjoyed every mouthful and was very impressed with the perfect balance of flavour . i had-
-roast moroccan eggplant
braised barley lentils / tomino / crispy spinach

my friend had the pork belly and very much enjoyed that too. there were empty plates all round.

i look forward to going back and eating more of the menu.

i went with a group of people a few weeks back for a meal after a meeting. having not eaten at pravda for a while as no longer being in central wellington quite so much i was intrigued to see if theplacewas as i remembered it. the meal did not disappoint the food was excellent. in addition no one in our party was disappointed either.

the atmosphere was excellent and the service was satisfactory.

pravda continues to justify itself as a restaurant worth visiting. reliable food and wine in a pleasant location.

the ambience is the big thing here: i understand that the building used to be a gentlemen's club. pravda is always busy and the meals nicely done. a goodplaceto take visitors as part of showing off wellington's sophisticated dining scene. good coffee too.

went in search of nz lamb...found rump of lamb on the menu. it was awesome and prepared beautifully. we also had a juicy, thyme chicken breast. the charcuterie plate was the perfect appetizer for two. the wait staff, hostess and manager were charming. this is the bestplacewe've found in nz so far. about $140 for two people without liquor.

we were in wellington for wow and given the crowds that pour in for this event, i booked a table at pravda a few months before the big night. they were helpful when i booked and even suggested coming in half an hour earlier to ensure we would be done in plenty of time before the show.

theplacewas buzzing when we arrived. the staff were excellent throughout the night. even though they were busy, they noticed when our drinks needed topping up and were spot on with the timing of each course. it was much appreciated.

we ordered bread and dips for the table to start and i have to say it was the best bread and dips i have had in a few years. lovely fresh warm bread, olive oil, balsamic and an amazing truffle and marscapone dip. could have kept eating this all night.

we skipped straight to mains. i had the lamb which was lovely. two others had the steak and could not stop raving about it even later in the evening. it is not cheap here, but you do get what you pay for.

my only downside was the toilets, which could do with freshening up, but that is pretty minor overall.

my husband was the only one still able to think about the dessert and opted for a bowl of gelato. it was a fabulous as the rest of the meal.

we were very impressed overall and definitely recommend pravda. a note that they do have a special set menu if you are heading out to a show. we opted for the standard menu, but appreciated that it was available.

good service portions, went for lunch with friends on a friday and theplacewas relatively busy.
food is pretty standard but good enough for a business lunch.

pravda is really great! we went for the first time using a deal voucher (which comprised mains, sides and two drinks). we also ordered some extra drinks, a cheese platter and dessert. everything was lovely, my partner (who is veggie) was very impressed by the gnocchi and i loved the akaroa salmon. the dessert (chocolate figs) was truly sensational. the wines we sampled were superb. we were impressed by the reasonable prices at this restaurant, compared to, for example, logan brown and martin bosley's. pravda offer similarly high calibre cuisine, and an elegant, sophisticated ambience, but in addition won't break the bank! the wait staff were mostly lovely, but as theplacewas very busy, perhaps a little rushed. can't wait to take my family to pravda!

when it comes to restaurants the ambiance and service are as important to me as the food. this is why pravda is my favoriteplacefor lunch in wellington.

it's a beautiful space and has an elegant but warm feel about it. never empty it has a nice buzz and i've always found the service professional and genuinely friendly.

if you come for a meal and sit upstairs you are taken to your table and the vibe is slightly more formal, if you come in for coffee or a drink at the bar it's more relaxed.

the chef always has a divine fish of the day which i tend to order, but recently the cold weather drove me to the rack of lamb / lamb shank pie, which was excellent.

i recommend pravda as the food is consistently great and the service consistently charming.

this is aplaceyou need to knwo what to expect .... good tasting food, but small portions - relaxed dining. not a plce to go for a quick lunch. tends to be on the high price side for what you get.
again - if you are expecting this you will be happy.
