the ribs and hot dog offerings need to be tried out- reasons for going again.

best italian beef in so cal best chicago dog in so cal hence it is a chicago chain! drive 100 miles plus a few times a year to kill the craving

the food wasnt hot and there was bone in the meat. will never go back

i think it was the best hotdogs i had my entire life. the decorations are awsome. the fiid is great what else does a food lover wants. go now have some hot dogs.

no 2 this orders for uuuz!!!. feline foody here.... ecs (east coast snob) talked me into attending a personal monumental event . a trek to moreno valley for one of his favorite east coast fast food joints portillo's. although i have to call it fast food because you stand in line to order, pick up your own food at the window and clean up your own mess...(it also has a drive thru). surprisingly enough, i have never tasted west coast fast food on this level.....ever. the dogs were soft squishy steamy buns filled with mouth watering yummyness.... and the beef n'cheddar resembled something like a "oh my hell if i could eat 3 more i would" type of sandwich. the chili cheese fries are pretty dang good as well as the rings. ice cold scooners of domestic budwiser (not my fav) however tastes pretty amazing with the dog! great for the tastebuds but don't expect serene, you might want a bring along some ear protection. they hollar out your number with a rhyme like "number two, this order's for you".... cute. worth the drive!

for me, it missed the mark. maybe because i've been to portillos in bolingbrook. when i ordered a "combo w/hot & sweet, dunked" the person taking my order had that puzzled look...kinda like the rca puppy with it's head tilted to the side. had to slow down & explain/simplify my order. just a reminder that i wasn't in chi town. portion of beef on "sangwich" was a joke compared to chicagoland. gave me the sandwich wet, not dunked, as i requested. forgot the gardineira. i like portillos, just not in socal.

great food!. i have been eating at portillo's for 35 years! their italian beef and sausage is very good, so are the dog's and burgers! (great burger) some of the best fries around! two, must try's are the cake shake, and the strawberry shortcake, the best!
they have it down to a science. five stars everytime!

i like everything at portillos. you must get the cheese sauce for the fries! it is s moral imperative!

good, but not great. decent food here with my favorite being the italian beef. as for sausages, i would prefer the nearby costco for a hebrew national polish sausage and drink for $1.50.
i am not really sure why portillos has such a following because the seating is poor and it lacks atmosphere. standing at counter lines and ordering and more waiting to pick up your food. what is the appeal over lesser priced restaurants that wait on you?

they say they have famus burgers, but their polish street sausages with the onions and fried mustard is to die for!!! you seriously cannot go there without getting at least one. we drive pretty far to get these on special occasions. so good!!

yummy yum yummers! great fresh food. hard to find something i don't like here.

after finding portillo's on urbanspoon and reading the reviews, i had to go. went with wife and son. wife and i had the chicago and son ate two jumbo cheese chili, and orders of onion rings and chili cheese fries. we also ordered the caramel pecan cake. the dogs were very tasteful as was the cake and the fries but hands down our favorite were the onion rings. the onions were crispy and flavorful with the batter actually staying on. will definitely return.
