ponzio's

wont go again. my wife and i would go every weekend for brakfast. slowley we took notice that the quality of the food and the freshess went down hill, we had found out the owner had past away and his son and other family members took over.

i had made mention to the manager regarding a meal we had and he began to make excusses for each of my concerns. i wasnet looking for a free meal. i was a regular custmer and after our conversation was over i had told him i didnt think he cared if i was a satisfied customer he told me
"its hard to make everybody happy"

i never went back and never will.

my friends and i had a wonderfully satisfying meal/experience at ponzio's today (june 22, 2018) thanks to amy, our extremely cordial and attentive server. she filled our order meticulously and checked back periodically to ask about drink refills, etc. the food was great - just an awesome day at ponzio's!

a friend of ours is a server at ponzio's cherry hill and we always ask for her section and let them know we will wait for a table in her section. for the last six visits there for weekend breakfast the owner and or hostess has purposely put us in someone else's section. the whole reason we visit that diner is for her. obviously they are not about customer service satisfaction. will not be visiting ponzio's for a long time to come.

this is hands down the worst customer service i have ever experienced in my entire life. we order take out every weekend and dinner during the week, and every single time i wait at the take out counter for atleast 15 minuets without even being acknowledged. i have to ask for help even with 10 employees just standing around (2 of which i overheard talking about their favorite kind of wine, while i was standing there not being helped) who see i am at the counter and still it takes another 5-10 minuets to be serviced.... to pick up a take out order!!!!! the only reason we continue to go here is the good food. unfortunately this has been the last straw. we spend atleast $200 a month there on take out, and the service is absolutely appalling. it's a joke to even call it service.

a classic new jersey diner. diners are a new jersey staple. you can find a one on almost every corner. ponzio's, however, stands out. yes, you can order breakfast all day and you order all sorts of sandwiches and other diner fare. but ponzio's in cherry hill, nj is reminiscent of what diners were in the 60's, 70's and 80's. this huge diner is a place where i'd be confident ordering any meal on the menu. actually, i'd highly recommend their seafood. their crab cakes are as good as you're ever going to have at a diner and better than some seafood places.

the amazing cheese rolls, cinnamon bread and other breads that grace the table before your meal are just a small sampling of the amazing baked goods that ponzio's bakery turns out. you'll have a hard time resisting the urge to press your face against the massive bakery display cases. no matter what you choose you'll be happy with your selection. personally, i'm partial to their cakes such as red velvet.

just recently i recommended ponzio's to someone who was staying nearby for a few days. they were not disappointed and even took some baked goods back to virginia with them.

one other somewhat random thing worth mentioning is that their wi-fi is one of the fastest internet connections i've ever seen anywhere. that was an unexpected surprise.

i have just had one of the worst experiences ever at a restaurant. after spending over 1 hour waiting for our check, once our meal was finished, (yes... over one hour for our waiter to tell us how much we owe) they had the audacity to charge me and my date 18.5% gratuity for their incompetent service.
when i complained and said the service was not even worth 10 % gratuity and i wanted $2.56 off the bill for lousy service. the owner of ponzio’s diner in cherry hill, nj called the police. when the police arrived the officer was very cordial and calmed down the diner owner, we were able to leave.
do you believe a diner owner would call the police over a complaint about incompetent service that could have been settled by allowing a $2.56 deduction off of a 48.00 bill? ($7.56 of which was unearned gratuity).
i was willing to leave a $5.00 gratuity for the incompetent service. when i made the manager aware of my displeasure, he refused to compensate me and asked me if he wanted to get the police involved. i thought he was joking so said “sure call the police” what a buffoon.
i have probably had about 100 or so meals at this diner over the last 10 years... i never had a problem with the food or the service. but after this... he has lost me as a customer forever.
i though the gratuity was a stipend, tendered by a satisfied customer, to a service provider, for a job well done. since both my children worked as wait staff at several restaurants during their high school and college years, i understand the rules and usually leave a gratuity in excess of 25%. my girlfriend always says i leave too much.
this service was really bad and the owner compounded it (the poor service) with his actions.
after he called the police he said i could not leave until the police arrived, he has us on surveillance cameras and he would file a complaint with the police if we leave. (he should check his surveillance footage to see if he would have commended his staff on how we were served.)
i really like the food there and the only way i will ever return is if i get an apology from this owner. i can assure you that he is not man enough to see his mistake. so i guess... never again at ponzio's.

quality survives. once upon a time south jersey had diners galore. not so much these days. this place has lasted for good reason. it's everything a diner should be. great service, good food, diner surrounds. an institution.

wow. the amanda salad was delicious and left just enough room for the best chocolate cake i've ever had. my server could have smiled just once but she was polite professional and prompt. i'll definitely be back.

great food in nj. delicious food and nice sized portions... the bakery has lots of choices to compliment any meal...

average at best. expensive. bitter coffee. soggy bacon. undercooked eggs

great bkfts, burgers & baked goods. crowded, but has a counter you can seat w/ waiting.

call ahead to reserve a seat. always crowded. good food.

average. im sorry but im just not feeling the food. i had alot more good tasting food at magia mangia and michaelangelo. i suggest saving the money and go to that pizza place next to michael alans barbershop. everytime i get my cut there i order some food at kings hwy pizza

awesome dining. love it love it love it.. ponzio's takes diner up to the next level. their baked goods and gourmet sandwhiches are off the chain.
