delicious, we were hesitate about the fusion asian contemporary flavours (also because we were asian) but we were wrong. it works...and it was delicious!! the wood crumpets mussels.... amazing the sauce was to die for. my only complaint was that everything was a tad over salted. like every single dish was so salty, on the line of bearable/unbearable. we ended up drinking loads of water after this meal. the flavours were spot on though, i’d say i’ll give the leek and blue swimmer crab a miss, tasted boring and very plain. oh and also the zucchini scallop 👌🏻. service was great, friendly and food came out quick. i would recommend and visit again.

kids meals overpriced and dry. my daughter received a lasagna that was inedible. while she was waiting for another serve i requested bread while waiting and got served two small slices of focaccia that we were charged $6.00 for. wont be going back anytime soon.

absolutely loved dining here - such a beautiful venue, with exquisite food and great service. i loved how experimental some of the dishes were and using of regional ingredients. great place for a date with my partner.

came for dinner on nyd and had to have the set menu. entrees were pretty good and interesting but mains were not up to the mark at all. chicken tagine tasted like a moroccan chicken dish you could cook at home, and definitely not what a tagine should be. basic best describes it. the fish main served was 3 pieces on one plate for the 6 of us. when queried they said that it was larger portions. so i guess we’ll just portion it ourselves... worst to come the fish was completely and utterly tasteless with a weird texture. no salt no seafood ‘sweetness’, nothing. broccolini side way to sour to be enjoyable. dessert was a goat cheese cake, surely they would think to put something else on a set menu rather than an ingredient that is incredibly polarising. so disappointing especially when they charged an extra 15% service charge on top of the bill since it was a public holiday...

made booking more than 1 week in advance. the host was nice but bad experience. booked at 2:30 and sat down at 3:00. has to stand in front wait for half hour even you made booking. the waiter is pretty rude, i ordered a burger for one of my kids and he was like:”only one? that’s not enough.” after i ordered all the food he was said to me, no, that’s not enough for you. and he keep pushing us to order more. why we eat so much food at 3pm? it makes people feel very uncomfortable. beautiful venue though but never come back because of the service.

we visited point leo estate yesterday for a celebration dinner and enjoyed the sculpture park beforehand. i kind of think they should wave the charge at the cellar door if you are paying to eat at the restaurant (or the entry to the sculpture) but for the $10 you pay to wine test you can spend a leisurely hour enjoying the art instead.

the staff were attentive (as you expect when there’s a hat involved, the other restaurant on the premises has two hats) and lauded for the apple bread as the whole foundation of the restaurant (which for two tiny pieces at $6 was not revolutionary).

our shared entree was the hand cut prawn pasta. my partner really enjoyed this but i thought the flavour profile had an overwhelmingly likeness to that of salty chicken stock. for our mains we had the lamb and the beef fillet accompanied by a side of parsley and caper potatoes.

the lamb dish was very insubstantial i thought but the beef fillet (clever ordering by me) was well presented and delicious albeit a little over seasoned. this worked well as our side dish lacked seasoning and i was able to utilise the other elements on my plate (mornington butter and spinach) to balance this. the duchess potato was really lovely.

for dessert we shared the vanilla panna cotta which was a quite a light way to finish. the vanilla wasn’t particularly pronounced but the texture was good and the raspberry sorbet with this was delectable. very pretty on the plate too

9/10 for the experience (i.e lunch, wine tasting, view and sculptures)
8/10 for food + service.
went to dine at pt leo estate on a gloomy october day, however, the weather did not deter the crowds.
i recommend this restaurant to those a well executed and ultra delicious food!

enjoyed an amazing lunch in red hill to end a weekend in mornington. the restaurant has lovely views of the sculpture park and the sea in the distance. the menu has a great variety which i loved. our waitress was very accomodating and attentive. we ordered the oysters, cheese guyeres, beef tartare, prawn pasta, snapper and fries. everything was delicious but the standout was the prawn pasta. i believe the menu read prawn and ginger hand cut pasta. amazing flavour and textures. each bite was like my first bite. do yourself a favour and give it a try! we had a beautiful lunch but sadly, our perfect experience was ruined when the lady fixing our bill threw my change at me.

we loved 😍
this place was absolutely beautiful. the sculpture walk was gorgeous and overlook the peninsula.
we ate at the terrace bar as we were too late to dine in the main area. they often have live music playing also.
we ordered the duck cottage pie. it was a little salty but overall delicious.
the pinot noir was gorgeous also.

it was the coldest weekend all winter when we came to dine at point leo but lovely and toastie inside with an impressive view out to the sculpture park to the white capped waves in the distance. our round table afforded everyone a view and we were soon enjoying a couple of bottles of wine, the 2017 pinot noir from the estate and a rose from elsewhere on the peninsular.

i have seen the menu online but this was different on both zomato and their own website that presented to us. for entree course i shared a couple of sydney oysters freshly shucked and served natural. we also tried the cheese gougères (cheese puffs) and the goat cheese tart with pickled beetroot and rhubarb. the tart was an exceptional dish, creative and unique.

main for me was always going to be a beef option and they had a substantial wagyu striploin with enoki mushrooms, onions and a absolutely divine veal jus. this dish was cooked just a tad over medium rear (imo) and there was a little sinew but was still very enjoyable flavour wise and i very really get beef at home let along wagyu so a real treat. others on the table got the tuna steak, cooked medium rear accompanied by macadamias. everyone was impressed by the texture of the whipped hollandaise that took up a quarter of the plate on the tempura rockling and the thick cut beef fillet had me experience fomo in terms of its appearance. it came with amazing duchess potato’s (mashed then baked).

service was friendly and impeccable and the celiac on our table was well and truely catered for except when it came to dessert where they unfortunately lacked a single gf option except for cheese where they had crackers that would have been right for her. as a table we had eaten quite enough already so decided we wouldn’t have dessert in the end.

overall an enjoyable winters lunch at a great venue in the always impressive mornington peninsula. there were plenty of ig types taking photos of themselves so i didn’t feel too out of place taking my food photos.

a winery posting. victoria is so lucky to be blessed with many great places to eat outside the city. this is one of those. point leo estate is very professional with two sessions. if possible i recommend session two as it tends to be more relax with the timing. the service is attentive and impeccable.
the ambiance is bright, a lot of light and great views.
the food is beautifully cooked and though it is a little on the pricey side but it is a treat.
my fillet was cooked medium rare and the knife went through like butter. the entree was really good. so good that i forgot to take a photo of it.

highly recommended if you are in the area. i do recommend a booking. there is a more casual area as well and the food is more relax and casual such as roast chicken and burger. still looks very good.

beautiful from the outside on a clear night, what a way to set my dining mood at point leo estate restaurant! really nice interior setting with plenty of staff.

the set menu and the quality of food was very good. right from the start with the warm home made bread and the crispy ricotta polenta - thumbs up! the snapper with chilli was delicious but the sauce could thicken up a little. the beetroot pancake was rather interesting with the salmon roe but tasted pretty good. the wagyu striploin was a little cooled down by the time it reached our table but still very tasty. on a side note, the kids minute steak were equally tasty! the meringue dessert was very nice to finish off the set menu.

the chocolate opera cake we ordered was huge! luckily they only served us a small square size each but it took us 3 nights to finish it!! i would definitely love to try phil wood's laura restaurant next time!

let’s face it, this place is an experience. spectacular vista, worth going during the daylight hours (at least partly) to enjoy the spectacular view and watch the sun set. also to enjoy the sculptures by day and by night and the fabulous gallivanting horse! we didn’t do any wine tasting but did enjoy a wine in the tasting area before dinner.
we enjoyed dinner at laura. fabulous for a “special” occasion. we enjoyed the degustation -paired wines are tricky if driving. the mussel scallop foam paired with the nori wrapped fish was probably the stand out. probably not the most filling of menus, even when you add the extra cheese course. caviar was delicious. the more relaxed side looked pretty awesome too so will try that next time. overall, quite spectacular.
