highly recommend - not your typical hotel restaurant. i was on business travel in concord, ca and wanted a goodmealafter a long day's work. i came across the plate & vine and initially disregarded it because i saw it was attached to the hilton and in my experiences hotel restaurants can be so-so at best. not true with this place! after reading reviews on another site, i decided to give this place a try. they have a separate entrance from the hotel and they do validate parking. the interior is small and cozy. the service was top-notch - i was never waiting for anything. they were quick to bring out menus, drinks, food, and bills. my waitress was very attentive and personable stopping by to see how my food was, the wine recommendation she gave, etc. based on her recommendation i ordered a pinot noir, the warm olives appetizer, the duck entree, and the crème brulee. i'm shocked to say this, but this was one of the best meals i have had anywhere, and i am a food snob when it comes to restaurants. heads up on the olives - they are served warm which i had never had before, but they were still delicious. the duck was cooked perfectly and was delicious. the wine paired wonderfully with my meal. and at the end i managed to fit in the crème brulee - i could have been a bit warmer, but the flavor and creaminess were great. this was far from being your average hotel restaurant and i would highly recommend it to anyone who would like a nice dinner out or any business traveler who needs a great meal.
