pizzeria italia has been a late night food stop for us many times over the years, and was the only 24 hour pizza joint around us before andiccios. hidden away in a petrol station just after eastgate, the pizzeria is small and unassuming, but the pizzas are always tasty.
on saturday night we stopped by after a party andordereda nonna rosa, which was a bit too salty for my liking but the avo helped a bit with that. we also had a tia rita which is their chicken mayo offering, and it was definitely the better of the two weorderedbut still not the best i've had.
their bases are thin and crispy and the cheese is good and melty, and it's a decent offering for the price. but if i had the money i'd probably head for andiccios rather.
