walking in can be a little intimidating, especially around lunch. people are lined up to get in and if you don know what you want, you might have flashbacks to a seinfeld episode, but in reality the person taking the order was friendly, and able to answer my questions. i'm almost sure that just about anything you order here will be good, but this is one place where i get the same thing every time. the cuban, the bread is fresh a the pickles a little spicy, but the star of the show is definitely the pork. tender, moist, and just cooked perfectly. it would be hard to find a better cuban between jacksonville and havana.

talk about the best pork chops and steak possibly in jacksonville! my husband and i went here for a low key date night and tried the pork chops and steak. mouth watering, drool inducing! must try’s for sure.

their sandwiches are great for lunch, too. and don’t forget to grab and bag of their seasoned pita chips to go! pine grove is one of my favorite home town restaurants to visit.

one thing i have learned in my two years of blogging; i do not live in a food zone.  yep, to find great food it is not unusual for me to drive fifteen to thirty miles.  today i made the seventeen mile trip to pine grove deli and meat market, and it was well worth it.  i am a little late coming to pine grove; it’s a long time fixture (60 +years) in avondale, i can’t say how i missed it.  perhaps because my deli experiences in jacksonville have been less than stellar, i have just given up. today was the exception.  a no frills exterior and interior, indoor and outdoor seating; the menu offers breakfast, and lunch sections.

excellent deli. i love places that you can see everything being made right in front of you. i took 3 kiddos here before we went to terrorize dave and busters and we all enjoyed it. if you're a deli, you have to have great bread and their hamburger buns were soft and toasted white bread had just the right amount of crunch without scraping up the insides of mouth. sandwiches had an abundance of meat and crisp vegetables. if you're looking for a viable deli option, pinegrove should most definitely be a huge blip on your radar.

pinegrove is the best deli in jax. everything is fresh and homemade. the meats are of the highest quality and they cook it perfectly. the mother makes the baklava, only $10 for the container! the cuban is perfect. my husband came to life when he tasted the nader! amazing family run establishment. must try if you haven't!

i just love the food here! the portions are worth the price plus it's cooked when ordered. i love the steaks and specials they have weekly. friendly staff working and the place is spotless! if your not from jax you must stop by and try it.

well i went to try this place being that i heard it was good. since they sell fresh cut steaks i figured what better to get than a philly cheese steak...it has to be good. we'll i was not so impressed, there was hardly any steak on the sandwich. i had more onions than steak. can honestly say i enjoyed more philly cheese steaks from wing joints than i did from here. the staff were very friendly but don't know that i will be back.

what a nice surprise. first time visitor and came based upon urban spoon reviews. walked in and knew this was a hotspot. small sitting sea was jammed with customers prior to 12:00. i had to order to go but ok, i'm easy. i ordered a cuban sandwich and a peanut butter cookie. sandwich was outstanding. full of fresh meat and bun was pressed, hot and somewhat crunchy. very tasty. cookie was top notch too. looking forward to coming back soon!

best deli in jax. the nader just might be my favorite sandwich in jacksonville. the staff couldn't be more friendly, and the service is always prompt. you must try the fish fry they have on saturdays. the bajalia's have a jax institution on their hands. 10/10

great sandwiches. the fact that my husband felt his sandwich had a substantial amount of meat on it was a good sign because that is always his number one complaint. he enjoyed every bite of his st. john's sandwich which was filled with creamy chicken salad and thick cut bacon. i had the tasty pinegrove melt with ham and turkey on thick toasted bread, and the pasta salad was one of the best i have ever had. the accompanying house made potato chips were thick, salty and very crunchy. the staff was friendly and the community seating offered plenty of space. there are many items on the menu we would like to try so we plan on returning.

best deli in jacksonville. i lived in nyc before moving to jacksonville and have spent the last 3 years looking for a deli that can even compare to an nyc deli. everyone at my gym was raving about pinegrove deli so i finally decided to try it. my sandwich was exactly how i ordered it, bread was fresh and they even gave me a sampling of their homemade dishes to try at home. needless to say going back!

best cut steaks in town (maybe the cuban sandwich too)!. how did i ever not know about this place--and much closer to my neck of the woods than so many other places in jax. best cut meats i have ever had, hands down. steaks, hamburger, sausage--on and on. throw in that it is an awesome deli and how can you beat it? try a bunch of things but make sure you get the cuban.

people around me ordered jimmy john’s for lunch. i decided to hold out, and on my way home made my way into jacksonville’s riverside neighborhood for a sandwich at the whiteway delicatessen.  i pulled in front of the deli located on king street at 3:34.  the door was bolted, the blinds were drawn, and the lights were off.  whiteway closed at 3 o’clock. my heart sunk a bit.  after overcoming my initial disappointment  i scanned for nearby spots that could satisfy my craving.  pinegrove market and deli was a short drive south on park street in avondale.  bungalows, cottages, and green spaces lined the street.  i sped past the turn to pine grove avenue, but soon found my way to the small unassuming store front wedged in between modest houses that lined the street.  a string of cars fronted the market, and i found a space towards the end of the row near the front door. entering the store i was greeted by a smiling bearded man behind the counter, who i later learned was the owner nadar baja

been here twice but don't get it. $10. half pound burger that hid under slices of small sourdough on a patty melt. barely perceivable cheese but onions were good albeit any kind of seasoning on patty or sandwich. no seasoning on a 1/2 lb steak burger? wtf! are you new at this? previous visit yielded same unsatisfactory experience over a $9 corned beef that had 2-3 oz of mystery brand beef. steaks to go at $15-20. lb. glad there are so many affluent folks over avondale to keep this afloat for decades.
