piada is italian for piadina. okay, for those of you reading the bad or just alright reviews, ignore them. piadina or piada is athinitalian flatbread, typically prepared in the romagna region (forlì-cesena, ravenna and rimini). it is usually made with white flour, lard or olive oil, salt and water. a tortilla (in mexico and central america only) is a type ofthinflatbread, made from finely ground maize or wheat flour. so a piada is not like a burrito, it may look the same but that is the end of the similarities. mo's, qdoba, chipotle, and subway have the same concept as piada, working your way down the line and creating your dish, this is where the similarities end. none of these restaurants even come close to the food quality of piada. they use fresh, authentic italian ingredients and prepare all items fresh daily. they make all their sauces and dressings in house daily.
yes, piada can be a little expensive if you decide to add a street side, soup, or side salad and a drink to the meal. however, the piada's, pasta bowls, and chopped salads are enough all by themselves. with that being said, go to piada and try it for yourself. the staff is always welcoming and friendly, they will gladly give you a run down of how the menu works and guide you as you make your selections. you will not be disappointed.
