long-time customer of this sunnybank pho establishment, however first review.
we arrived just before the lunch-time surge, of which queues of people were already starting to line up.
we ordered the spring rolls to-share, as well as individual medium-sized bowls of pho tai (rare beef), pho dac biet (combination), and bun bo hue (spicy beef).
the spring rolls were crispy and delicious. they came with lettuce to wrap them in (and to protect sensitive fingers from the heat) and accompanying fish sauce dip.
the pho was steaming, flavourful (albeit with my familiar lingering sweet and saltiness), with fresh noodles and slices of fresh meat.
the bun was perfect for a cool day - generous slices of pork and beef, and the broth had a good heat to it. the extra satay sauce is also a family favourite at pasteur's.
relatively inexpensive. casual ambience. reasonable service - yes, there were hiccups with our order (the owner came out to verify our dishes), however the missed dish came out less than five minutes later.
overall, a solid vietnamese restaurant and sunnybank institution for no-fuss, comforting pho and other noodle soups.
