best pho in brisbane (so far)!!!. we are originally from edmonton, canada where the best pho in the world is served at a little hole in the wall called tau bay. since moving to brisbane 8 months ago, we've been on the hunt for something comparable with no luck, most places had broth that was too sweet or too bland (muddled by the flavor of noodles where you don't even want to sip at the left over broth). until now!!
we went to pho hien vuong last night and, after getting the last available table inside, ordered our pho with high hopes. after our first sip of the broth, we knew we'd struck gold! the broth is soo good and savory you can taste the marrow, and it was still tasty till the last drop.
we also had pho sai gon last week which is pretty good, but pho hien vuong is much better, with a really nice combo of meats in the soup, really tasty fatty beef, sausage, etc. plus the tables all had hot tea and chili oil too which was great (not sure why other pho places in brisbane don't have this, should be standard).
serving size is good too, you can pick from small, med or large (i ordered a small which was more than enough, my partner who can eat a horse was rightly full after the medium bowl). so after trying the pho places in west end, inala, a few in wolloongabba and fortitude valley, i think this is the place to go for a beautiful bowl of pho.
