the return. wow, upon returning to pasture i found that the waitstaff was superb! very helpful and attentive. but, my experience with the food was of a lesser experience. again i tried the cheeseburger but much to my dismay the meat this time was over cooked and very "medium," unlike my order (and supposedly the normal way it is served) of medium rare - there was no red or even pink showing in this patty. and the patty itself this time around seemed emasculated, smaller, and smothered by the amoeba-like huge soft white sesame-seeded bun. the accouterments to the burger were also of a lesser value than i had remembered. the lettuce did not come across as historic or kitschy being shredded iceberg as there was only about 1.5 teaspoons of it (no kidding) and with no other additions, only the sleepy sauce, this burger has become nothing to write home about.

food & decor. ok ... this food is good, and at times - great. the classic cheeseburger lived up to its expectations (after reading how awesome it was by other reviewers i had to try it.) it was juicy, cooked to perfection (medium rare yall!), the local meat was of high quality, and accouterments were equally good - bread was good (notgreatbut you don't want it to battle the meat, right?), special sauce was perfect, and the greens were ... interesting (small chopped variety - interesting as in good). the fries were also great, and sharing some of the other "small portions" was equally a gastronomical delight. i especially liked the brussel sprouts, a nice mixture of veggies within and the lemon based sauce really worked - great.
ok, ok ... the decor was somewhat like a very hip barn mated with a doctor's office from the 80's. i loved the real wood and the light bulbs and cords dangling down from the ceiling, but the deep teal and white that covered the remaining architecture did not mix well with my yummy juicy burger -- i had to keep my eyes on the plate. i liked the glass entrance and the original tile floor offered a nice historic reference as did the vintage metal and wood furnishings. overall the space was very open, lite, and airy, and maybe could have used some ambient lighting and a few simple, minimal paintings on the larger walls (my opinion only of course). there. i will return, no doubt.
