hands down. get the grilled chicken. trust me. i know,i feel the same way about fried chicken, this blows it away. topped with a slushy, on the patio in summer, it's heaven. i've recently been going with the monsieur coconut slushy and am very very happy.

this stop is an absolute must! hands down the best food! they have everything you can imagine under one roof, from dessert to hot dogs and pasta! not over priced either. had a chicago style hot dog and it's was soooo good! hot dog wasn't charred but boiled with all the fixings on a poppy seed bun... fries were fresh and not greasy... italian sausage sandwich was delicious with the right amount of spicy. you want authentic chicago food, this place is it! you will not be disappointed!

great summer spot equipped with great patio seating. the food is simple and unassuming, but excellent. my recommendation is the chicken sandwich, hush puppies and a nergoni slushy. you'll probably have to wait to eat, but there's ample seating and entertainment to pass the time.

parson's is one of those restaurants that doesn't really need an introduction... just go to the north side of chicago and ask for the best atmosphere, patio, frozen drinks and sandwiches, and someone will take you to parson's.

is there a wait? well, yeah... especially when the weather is really nice or peak hours on the weekend. but, it's worth it. just have a negroni slushy (or several) at the bar and people watch while you wait.

it's like a hot chicken restaurant in nashville, but of the chicago hipster variety... meaning you can also find menu items like my pictured pimento toast (still on the menu) and octopus salad (replaced with a farrow winter salad). very vegetarian friendly!

this is also a great place to bring out-of-town friends... or, if you have parents like mine, they can find good food that doesn't sound "too weird."

best friend chicken, best patio, best negroni. hands down one of the best spots in logan square. and their hot sauces, they're delicious!!! also from the land & sea family, you will not be disappointed.the gm used to work at longman & eagle, and he's a super cool guy. you'll see him tending the bar, checking up on tables or even running drinks and food, just the way it should be. everything about this place is top notch, as it would be expected from anyone in the land & sea family. the one thing that i find really annoying is that no matter what time you go there, there's always a chance you might have to wait. the indoor space was expanded this year, so we'll see how it works out during the winter when the patio is closed.

if you haven’t noticed, alex and i have been on a bit of a patio frenzy lately.  it might be because we’re trying to squeeze the most out of the end of summer, even though it feels like it just started. parson’s patio has been on our our list of restaurants to visit all summer.  two reasons. it just looks so cool and fried chicken, how can you go wrong?

parson's had been on my list for a while and i am so glad that i finally went because i am definitely going to become a regular. their hush puppies are one of the best things i've ever tasted, their negroni slushies are fun and delicious, and their patio is adorable. i had such a great experience here! the only bad thing is that there is always a pretty long wait, for good reason, and their inside seating area is pretty small. but other than that parson's is amazing. sad i didn't take any pictures but i have no doubt i will be going back soon.

after spending my friday & saturday here i figured i should review. the service is the only thing that made refrain from a 5. with that being said....they try. really hard. but it's
always busy, so they're always behind a bit. the fish sandwich is better than the chicken sandwich. hands down it's my favorite fish sandwich ever. the margarita is fantastic, as is the negroni and dark & stormy. i finally tried the black bean/chorizo fritters & they were more than what i wanted. super crispy on the outside & creamy/black beany on the inside. the back patio is the best thing & you should just go there. seriously. oh...and they have brunch during the off season. every day. which is so fricking good

i almost missed my flight out of chicago . i almost missed it because i was busy eating fried chicken and drinking slushies at parson's. parson's chicken and fish was opened by the team at longman and eagle , which you may remember was one of my favorites from previous visits. i'd been hearing about their negroni slushies and decided to stop by on my way to the airport. the place is a fun, colorful, diner. they actually had negroni and dark & stormy slushies, so we got both!

the patio let's you bring puppies, that's coo, they sell cans of old milwaukee for $2 and that's coo. there are a lot of people there that look like they listen to 100 bands you've never heard of but the reason you should go is their chicken sandwhich. the hush puppies are also really good and i've heard positive things about their amish chicken and fish, but get the sandwhich, it's so damn good

sometimes where the story comes from isn’t as interesting as the fact that there is a story at all.  because in the case of the monster, his deep love of southern food, his fascination with all things fried, his constant need for crunchy chicken and battered foodstuff makes no sense at all.

the chicken was crispy, moist and very tasty. it met every one of our fried chicken desires, especially when sprinkled with some of the house-made hot sauce available on the table ...

the menu features some other things but you don't go to fat burger and order a chicken sandwich. fried chicken and fish are in the name so you better be coming proper with these. the chicken is brined at first and then coated in buttermilk and spices before getting a toss in seasoned flour and fried. it's good. i'm not going to say it's the best but in a city where fantastic fried chicken is not prevalent it's nice to have around as an option. paired with an ice cold beer and some sun over summer it's a nice way to unwind.
