solid, but not amazing. i think this restaurant gets way too much hype. it's good for what it is... a little lunch place. but it's nowhere i would frequent regularly.

good place to go if you're also in the market to do a little shopping. the restaurant is merged with a gift shop of sorts and it's fun to walk around and look at the merchandise.

amazing sandwiches, sides, and coffee. i've never really eaten turkey sandwiches much, but i ordered the turkey & stonewall kitchen 7 pepper jelly, and it was one of the best sandwiches i've ever had.

ah, durham. the old haunt. in all the years since i graduated from duke, i hadn't traveled back to the area despite all the news i heard about the changes happening to both the culinary scene and city overall there. i had been meaning to return with duc in tow since he had never been there so when our schedules opened up for an opportunity (and opportunely, it was homecoming weekend), we decided to go! though there were new spots in town that had opened up, i wanted to make sure we visited parker & otis because i had enjoyed it so much (old review here). it's the perfect lunch spot and with so many sections of gifts and products at their location, it's just a fun place to browse. the restaurant still stood and was just as busy as ever; we plopped down for lunch one afternoon, and i still really enjoyed what they had to offer.

neat!. i was really confused when i walked into this place. i wish i would have look at some other reviews for reference, so i will pass along my new found knowledge.

this place has a unique vide. there is an area of tables at the front entrance(all of them full, probably). if you walk past that you can weed past the shop area to the order line and more importantly the menus.

i really enjoyed what i had. everything seemed really fresh and full favored. besides the good food there is a lot to take in. there is baked goods, fresh made chocolates, handmade crafts and more!

the only thing i would say could be a negative would be the large amount of foot traffic. if you don't like crowds this isn't the place for you.

must stop in durham. the food lives up to the atmosphere. all around great place. wife and daughter loved the gifts, food was outstanding. fresh salads, fruit and sandwiches. hard to find specialty sodas and drinks made it that much more exciting. order a sampling of a few different salads and sandwiches, it won't disappoint!
healthy, fresh and really good.

parker and otis is a restaurant, specialty food shop, wine store, gift shop and kitchen/cooking emporium. located in a fantastic old building in downtown durham, it was my heaven. i was like a kid in a candy store (actually i was... they do have a really fun candy selection!).

parker and otis is a great place to eat or shop. it has great lunch options and they have extraordinary cheddar biscuits at the coffee bar. i also love their carrot cake cupcakes. it is a great place on a rainy day too.

the selection of sandwiches are inventive and reasonably-priced. they all come on a tin tray with a generous portion of colorful coleslaw.

i can't believe it took me so long to try it - this place is great! simple, delicious, reasonably priced food; nice staff; great ambiance (though i've heard it can get quite crowded). lots and lots of nice gifts, and some funny gifts from seattle's archie mcphee (a taste of home!). some are overpriced but all are pretty unique in the area. overall, a great, interesting place.

pretty awesome. i recently visited parker and otis with a group of family and friends. i ordered the mozzarella and tomato sandwich with the spinach salad as a side. it was delicious! while it was great to walk around the shop and look at the cookbooks, wines and gadgets i enjoyed the opportunity to have a great meal, relatively quickly. if i lived in durham, i would frequent often to enjoy a quick, healthy meal without having to go to a drive-thru.
