finally made it. my wife and i have planned to visit il centro for quite awhile. finally last thursday our schedules, our appetites, and our inclinations all convened when were close to il centro. so, we stopped in.

we loved it. theplacefelt friendly from the moment we walked in. the bartender was attentive and the food was outstanding. we shared an anti pasta platter and the cannelloni. both were exceptional.

while most of the customers that evening seemed to be from the neighborhood we were delighted to find some old friends from way out south blended into the crowd. we'll be back again to enjoy the great food and the congenial atmosphere.

long wait, good food. we visited on a saturday night and were told that there would be approximately a 45 minute wait. we immediately found aplaceat the bar and ordered drinks so we weren't too concerned about the wait.

unfortunately others weren't too concerned about our wait either. there were at least 3 tables of diners who had completely finished their dinner but were still seated. the waitstaff didn't seem interested in trying to move them along despite the fact that the restaurant was packed and there were many groups waiting for a table. one table seated right near the bar sat there for over an hour after they had finished their food and taken care of their bill. waitstaff did little to encourage them to leave and even kept refilling their water glasses. in fact, this group was still there, just sitting around talking, long after we finally got seated and were served our food.

once we were finally seated, the service was good and the food was delicious. everyone ordered something different and everyone liked what they ordered.

it is too bad that a few rude people spoiled what otherwise would have been an enjoyable evening. management needs to do a better job of turning tables over. i will not definitely come back during peak times and i recommend that you don't either unless you like to watch rude people sit there.

worst restaurant i've experienced in a long time. it's a urban type restaurant so i feel people won't say much. it was my first time there with my 5 year old and my sister with her husband. we had a great time at the bar waiting for our table. bartenders we great. ordered calamari thought it was good didn't think the sauces we great but for the atmosphere i would come back i thought. we got out table. thisplaceis small for the had tables anywhere they could fit them. not good! i ordered mahi mahi. my sister ordered pasta to share with kyle. my food was extremely salty so was the pasta. waitresses said my meal will be on the house including a desert. they didnt try to make me a new dish or fix it. i was to eat my salty salty fish! another waiter arrived and tells kyle they have made the pasta dish for twelve years and he is confident that the dish taste fine. in a rude tone. kyle said i've eat this dish before and we love it but it's really salty this time. the waiter said i'm not going to make you the same dish order something else. he was extremely proud of his food and extremely rude to us. me and the waiter confronted each other, he then said we had to pay for our meal. we refused and walked away since the waitress said our meal was free. we will never return this restaurant.

thisplaceis amazing! we ordered the spiedini and chicken walnut pasta. both were so delicious, i can't pick which one i like better. prices are reasonable, nice atmosphere and wait staff. best food i've had in a long time, highly recommend it!

bestplacein town. i love this place, food is always very good, service is excellent and some of the friendliest wait staff in the city. bar tenders are the best, they often have my drink waiting for me by the time i get from the front door to the bar.

amazing!!! one of kc's best!!!. if you're looking to break away from restaraunt chains (pun intended) and have a great energetic evening with some of the best food and best people in kc this is your place!!! the wine list is never ending and the food... the food is just off the scale. i've sampled almost everything on the menu over the 13 years i've been coming here and have never been disappointed. get there early or get there expecting to enjoy a few drinks at the bar before dinner because thisplaceis small and the locals fill it up fast. my favorites include the chicken walnut pasta, orrecchiette carbonnara gorgonzola pasta, spiedini or the lasagna for a main dish - the goat cheese spread for an app and the tiramisu for desert... i promise thisplacewill be come a favorite very quickly!!!

worst restaurant in kc. this is most definitely the worstplacein kc. i read raving reviews of thisplaceonline and decided to try it myself. upon arrival, i was told it would be a 45 minute wait. which is to be expected at any restaurant on a saturday night. after waiting 45 minutes in the entry way in single digit temperatures, we moved into the front door/greeting area for the remainder of our 1 1/2 hour wait. this restaurant is loud, crowded, and poorly set up. after we finally got seated, we did have good service from the waitstaff. there were several loud tables, including one that had a man wearing his napkin as a mask. i realize that this is not the problem of the restaurant, however it is not good 'ambiance' as the rest of the reviews i read stated. our salads tasted like bagged grocery store salad that hadn't been rinsed. my husband's lamb chops (ordered medium) were cooked inconsistantly. one was medium, one was medium well, another medium rare, etc. the rosemary mashed potatoes were runny and tasted as though they were nothing more than instant mashed potatoes with some seasoning on top. my chicken tagliata was horrible. the chicken tasted like a frozen grilled chicken patty with some frozen mixed vegetables on the side. this food was awful!! we only ate it because at this point we'd been at the restaurant for over 2 hours and wanted to leave!!!! never again! i would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!!!!!

good food...cozy atmosphere!. all four of us enjoyed our meals, and i had enough on my plate for 3 meals (leftovers were just as superb). from the antipasti platter through the salads to the main courses, we all enjoyed ourselves...don't let the exterior fool you. thisplaceis the real deal and kinda envelops you in its ambiance once you get inside.

the food is good. menu has some of the standard italian dishes & then some not so italian dishes. food is fresh & not overcomplicated. don't know what it is, but i love the atmosphere. a comfortableplaceto share a meal with someone.

great atmosphere. don't know what it is about thisplacebut it totally hums. greatplaceto come in the winter and warm up with a pizette and a bottle of wine. good for date night and family dinners too. warning it gets packed at peak times. though finding a spot at the bar is half the fun. don't go to buca di beppo when you can go here.
