origami sushi

yet another silverdale hit!. as my 2nd ever venue to eat at in the state of wa and the kitsap peninsula for that matter, i think i have found another winner for sure. having just tried sushi for the first time a little over a month ago back in central wi (my home town) i had to see what the good stuff was like out in the pnw. origami was no let down by any means. my roommate suggested we go here and since he knows more about the area then i do, i agreed to check it out. we each got an app and then split 5 rolls. i got the shrimp spring roll he got the miso. therollswe got were:

deep sea, spicy tuna, california, rainbow, and origami roll.

all were very good indeed but i may give a slight edge to the deep sea roll as its crunch and tempura coating just melted in your mouth! most of therollshad 8-10 pieces each so its enough to make a meal of if you eat a 2rollsor more yourself.

service was fast and friendly, prices were great ($23 split bill without drinks or tip).
i hate to admit it but this place has and edge over my hometown sushi joint in madison, wi but hey, it is what it is and my taste buds spoke the truth last night. i will be back again for sure as this place also has a full menu aside from sushi that looked equally as pleasing as our selection of sushi did on this visit.

sushi was not good. the unagi was not cooked all the way, still had pin bones all through it, and the skin fell off instead of being crispy. therollswere loose and fell apart. the white fish on the roll was very fishy smelling and tasting. it was like the fish was old. just not a good place to eat. we sent our food back and left

horrible, ordered 2rollswith eel, which ended up being full of pin bones and under-cooked. if you like sushi, don't come here, blech. my husband i are never going here again.

i love origami. for the real sushi eaters who like sashimi and don't have to dull it down with rice this is the place to go for fresh, cold delicious sushi. therollsare creative and very yummy too.
