olio market

this place is a must!. absolutely a must go to for downtown lunch outing! i had the mac and cheese pork chop sandwich and oh my was it good! it has this sweet and tangy taste to eat with brussel sprouts! the lemonade was so good and the fries! out of this world crunchy but so soft in the middle just the way i like it!

i tried, i really did. i really wanted to like olio. even after being disappointed the first time, i went back two more times just to make sure. but i was just underwhelmed by the whole thing. the first time i had the fried green tomato blt & french onion soup. the second time i had the chicken marsala sandwich. and this past week i had the rotisserie chicken sandwich & fries with basil aioli. the only thing i can say i really enjoyed was the basil aioli.

great homemade ginger ale!

great lunch. delicious sandwiches including the famous duck confit grilled cheese. the shrimp po-boy may have been one of the two or three best that i have ever had. the side special of the day was multi-grain orzo salad, which was delicious. all for less than $10.

love it!. the caprese panini and shrimp tacos were excellent. the vibe is hip, and the staff friendly. as a previous post mentioned, table delivery would add to the dining experience.

after much deliberation, i decided on a hamburger with white american and fries. i’d heard the hamburgers were top-notch, but i can say without a doubt that this is the best hamburger i’ve ever had.

sandwiches galore!. tried olio for the first time last week! i can never make it there since i work during the day :( home made fries with the basil aioli dipping sauce were amazing!! i opted for the duck confit grilled cheese, my hopes were high since it was up for best grilled cheese. i enjoyed the sandwich but didn't really know why it was a contender for "best grilled cheese" it needed a little more flavor, but it was still tasty! the others i were with had the steak and cheese sandwiches which were so good- the best in jacksonville! i loved the gouda cheese that was on it and the crispy edges :) will be back when i have a day off!

duck confit! i'm a believer!. we saw this on best sandwiches in america by adam richmonds on the travel channel. the duck confit grilled cheese did not win his contest but it is my new favorite. it is decadent! i am sure it is 2500 calories but o my god, you have to try it.

we had the bacon cheese fries and they were very, very good! if i lived closer than 2 hours i would be there every week!

the burger tasted very good. good enough that i would take a drive just to get their burger. everything tasted fresh and the bun was right on the money as well. i would have to put them into my high category of the voted 9's when it comes to burger reviews. excellent job olio, keep it up. but, we are still hunting for the best burgers in jax, so many to taste, so little time. on we go, its a dirty job, but somebody has to do it..............

inconsistent and overrated. went to olio for breakfast this morning. saw someone with a breakfast burrito that looked decent. turned out that the wrap was stale, the bacon was cold, and so was the cheese. also, all the siracha was in a glob in the middle, wasn't pleasant. i was so mad i just walked out and left a nasty note. honestly, how lazy do you have to be to screw up a breakfast burrito. i wish i had a picture to show to all the people that inevitable won't believe me. also, the duck for duck confit is clearly prepackaged and quite bland.

go here. this place is perfection. it's in expensive and delicious. they have great variety here. i have three words: bacon cheddar fries. as well, their fish tacos are delicious. actually, everything here is tastilicious. just go and enjoy yourself!

great lunch. shrimp po boy, excellent! a bit on the loud side at lunch time but the food is worth it.

duck grilled cheese..mmm. these sandwiches are excellent. i am in jacksonville on business for a few days and this place was recommended. i am glad it was. "duck confit, green tomato, gruyere, american cheese on sourdough bread." very tasty sandwich. i sampled the hot italian which was also very good. olio is the place to go for sandwiches downtown.

ever find yourself downtown and thinking to yourself “what do i want to eat”? well, i have a place for you to try out.  located on the corner of market and bay st. right across from the old courthouse, is olio market . i had heard from many of my friends about how good this place was, and that i just had to try the duck grilled cheese

good sandwiches. well living near downtown i saw olio's on urbanspoon an decided i had to try it. now i picked a week day and just before noon. it was good timing cause the crowd followed me in. i decided on the duck grilled cheese an the hot italian (ok i'm a fat kid) sandwiches. now i also got the lemon aide cause thats what i like and i heard it was good here. yes it is homemade and that should say it all. now for the sammies the duck was alittle different but good i like it but the wife didn't care for it. i thought the combo of duck confit and gueyere cheese was a nice mix along with the green tomatos. for the italian it was just that an italian with the right meats and some dressing splashed all around. all in all a good sammie. so it's a nice very upscale looking place that has some good foods to go along with a location that many places would have killed for before the court house moved. maybe this place will survive the move, i know the food was worth the trip downtown.
