went here with my partner and an interstate friend on easter sunday. we had pre-booked a table for dinner on their website, which they had kindly confirmed.
we went to the tasting cellar to sample the wines - all tastings were free of charge, all except the viognier used grapes on-site, and scott (the winemaster) was lovely and helpful.
for entree, we ordered a couple of the sourdough breads, which were deliciously warm and toasty, and complimented the spiced butter, balsamic reduction and olive oil dippings.
for mains, we had the chicken, duck and lamb. the duck was beautifully moist and the lamb fell off the fork. my friend enjoyed the chicken too, and was amazed at how crispy the skin was. all portions were decent-sized and were complimented by spiced sauces and vegetables.
for desserts, we shared the ricotta doughnut (which included a bit of table theatre including hot chocolate) and the "beehive" - a gorgeous deconstructed dish including fresh honeycomb (beautifully floral notes, made by the on-site bees), honey ice cream and chocolate dust.
for drinks, we had the ginger beer and the "wattle-we-do" (an ale with notes of roasted wattle seeds).
service was efficient and friendly. the cost is on the 'pricey-end' but reasonable given the location and scenery.
overall, highlights include the duck, the "beehive" and the "wattle-we-do". ocean view estates is a gorgeous place with good food and drinks, well-worth the 45 min drive from brisbane - and perfect to impress interstate friends or a special date night.
