i would recommend the small eats. dropped by last weekend with friends for lunch. as was to be expected, the wine list is v limited, but we did not expect the salad to be limited to no dressing as perhaps the winery doesn't produce their own?
on the bright side the quail passed with flying colours from our guest, however, the other 3 dishes ordered by our table of 4 which included the fish of the day - salmon which had sticky skin and hard flesh) as well as the beef fillet which was ordered medium rare and turned out as medium as a pre school bbq would have it. i could go on, but pause to say this which drew everyones attention. all of the small eats that were being wheeled out of the kitchen looked fabulous, which was actually given some cred when our afterthought order of a bowl of chips as a side was delivered. chips, make no mistake, delicious! just saying is all that perhaps you want to sit a bit and see what goes out of the kitchen before you decide what you want to choose to eat from here.

really good idea to make a booking.  we arrived without having done so, but were lucky to be accommodated as a table was a no show.  beautiful drive and scenery.  service was top notch and food and wine was a delight. the staff were welcoming, friendly. thanks for a great afternoon.

i’ll start with the positives. the location is absolutely beautiful. the restaurant is very nice. i had the mushroom gnocchi which was absolutely delicious. nothing to fault about. however, there were a lot of thing we weren’t very impressed with.
my fellow diners shared the beef brisket which was a decent size but tasted quite average. we also had the sweet potato flatbreads and dumplings for entree which were also average and tiny portion sizes. but what was most disappointing was the wait time. we got there at 12:30 for lunch and ordered drinks first which didn’t turn up. when we finally got the entrees we asked for the drinks again. they turned up shortly afterward. we didn’t get our main till after 2pm by which time we were starving especially after the tiny entrees. so overall, for a fine dining restaurant we were expecting more and left a bit disappointed.

let’s correct a titular misnomer straight up: the rolling view is less ocean & more stillwater dam...but totally captivating & i like its ambition. i believe in you dam, fake it til you make it! we found this a nice place to linger over brunch, as did guests from the onsite accommodation. not sure why we’d expected fine dining - it’s actually casual in feel & ambience which we liked. pricing however tends towards the higher end.

the creative menu required some tough decisions. my 62 degree eggs were textbook & beautifully paired with soft garlic cloves & delishe whole shrooms. normally i prefer crispy bacon but the thick, smokey, slightly charred slabs suited this dish. cino’s dad’s baked eggs were thoroughly enjoyed, especially the sumac yoghurt sourness. he added bacon & sourdough as sides but the plate really needed that bread to mop up all the goodness - we reckon for the pricetag it should have been included.

looove bubbly with brunch and the estate’s sparkling chards is a nice drop. paying 50c to add 2 raspberries is frankly mean at this pricepoint though, c’mon dudes. waitstaff were very lovely although the lady who rang up our bill was oddly mute. niggles aside, we’d return & hit up the cellar door as well next time. the overall experience was the icing on the cake of a scenic top-down mount mee country jaunt. well worth a visit.

hate to say but i agree with some people who mentioned '' overpriced '' and '' relying on the view ''. stuff are nice but need a bit more training as a professional. we have to grab the menu ourselves and they don't know about their wine and food. very nice venue so def nice place for few drinks but wouldn't recommend for food and service if you expect this restaurant to be a fine dining.

i have been to ocean view many times now. it’s such a beautiful place for breakfast and lunch. they also do a dinner service but i haven’t had the opportunity to dine yet.
the restaurant is nestled in the hills overlooking the vineyards and a lake.
the service is always fantastic and food is always amazing.
i love in particular their cheese board. the blue, truffle and vintage is to die for.
i believe most of their items are house made too. with a selection of lavosh, quince, and paste there is something to please everyone. i especially love the addition of the fresh honeycomb.
for the beer drinkers, ocean view brew their own beers and for the ladies in particular they have concocted a very delicious rose beer which is worth trying.
after a bite to eat you then have the option to walk the grounds or go for a beer/wine tasting session.
definitely always enjoyable dining here.

outstanding world-class cuisine in a country hideaway 40 mins from brisbane. the chef tony is deadset dishing-up a world-class menu at this beautiful restaurant. the cuisine is probably most easily classified as modern australian with suitably subtle international influences. we had the four course degustation with paired wines. standout favourites were the scallpos and the duck (separate dishes). the matching wines are all from the estate vineyard and are all superbly paired. reasonably priced for the quality. perfect for a weekend drive, romantic date, or a larger function (they also have an on-site wedding planner). a must-do for all brisbane-siders and sunny-coasters.

went here with my partner and an interstate friend on easter sunday. we had pre-booked a table for dinner on their website, which they had kindly confirmed.
we went to the tasting cellar to sample the wines - all tastings were free of charge, all except the viognier used grapes on-site, and scott (the winemaster) was lovely and helpful.
for entree, we ordered a couple of the sourdough breads, which were deliciously warm and toasty, and complimented the spiced butter, balsamic reduction and olive oil dippings.
for mains, we had the chicken, duck and lamb. the duck was beautifully moist and the lamb fell off the fork. my friend enjoyed the chicken too, and was amazed at how crispy the skin was. all portions were decent-sized and were complimented by spiced sauces and vegetables.
for desserts, we shared the ricotta doughnut (which included a bit of table theatre including hot chocolate) and the "beehive" - a gorgeous deconstructed dish including fresh honeycomb (beautifully floral notes, made by the on-site bees), honey ice cream and chocolate dust.
for drinks, we had the ginger beer and the "wattle-we-do" (an ale with notes of roasted wattle seeds).
service was efficient and friendly. the cost is on the 'pricey-end' but reasonable given the location and scenery.
overall, highlights include the duck, the "beehive" and the "wattle-we-do". ocean view estates is a gorgeous place with good food and drinks, well-worth the 45 min drive from brisbane - and perfect to impress interstate friends or a special date night.

wonderful lunch. we made a reservation for 2 and was seated out in the beautiful deck. it was cold day, however, the heater and cover were on, thank goodness. outstanding food, really gorgeous view, and excellent prompt and friendly service. ordered 2 mains. first was the duck breast-- the sauce was too overpowering for my liking, and therefore i didn't rate this dish. the ribs-- 5/5! everything was perfect. my boyfriend even said "that's the best potato i've ever eaten." the panna cotta dessert was really delightful, it has to be one of the best desserts i've tasted in a long time. so smooth, so delicious! the black sesame ice cream, everything on that plate was devine to the last bite. would recommend as a good dining experience m. regret: should not have had the duck breast and ordered a different main.

had the pleasure of spending the weekend at oceanview estates so we were able to try out breakfast, lunch and dinner. the highlight for me was probably the breakfast, but it's only served on sunday mornings. excellent size meals, beautifully presented and tasty to match. eggs were well cooked, both the 72degrees and the poached. those pancakes are as good as they look...lunch and dinner meals have a similar feel to them, also presented well with great flavours and textures. the chef trained under allastair mcleod and now heads up ove and does a fine job. if you're looking for a romantic getaway this would do the job well, or if you're needing a fine dining meal in a country setting but only 45minutes from brisbane this definitely fits the bill.

at a first glance - lovely location, pleasant staff and tasty food. however, that is only the initial vibe as the lunch progressed you come to a conclusion that:
- meals are overpriced and that the price is probably driven by the venue's location
- staff is mainly focused on larger groups or sedentary couples that might spend or tip more and doesn't treat every table/customer equally

worth a trip for some wine tasting and a nice day out with a picnic lunch (they provide nice picnic hamper) but i wouldn't be spending my time and money on the restaurant. better don't come here hungry and enjoy some coffee and scones.

$80 for 2 people is an incorrect estimate. starters are $13+ and mains are $31-$35; however it is all rather minimalistic.

beautiful meals on the menu, i'm guessing the somewhat remote location is the reason for their slightly high pricing structure. they do feature a lunch only smaller type menu to try and make up for that. i had a delicious vegetarian main which was amazing. never heard of their brewery before but coming back to try more beers and wines without driving is going to be difficult. beautiful scenic views so a perfect place to take your in-laws on the weekend ;)
